Never denied that Disco - I wanted him - but not many wanted to pay "some" of the figures quoted (as I say, we'll never know the actual reasons he didn't sign as there were loads of different things said in the papers - but this hasn't come up for nearly 2 seasons either until he signed for Chelsea!) - I'm pretty sure Fiorentina wanted him back and then he decided to stay there at the time - Poyet was in charge and said he wanted him but we ended up with PVA (not a bad left back - obviously not in Alonso's category but decent enough - although I'd love him to be played left mid!)

Just opinions fella and no issues from me - I just can't remember anyone mentioning him close season until he signed for Chelsea for 20 odd million. He's class, undoubtedly and I wished we'd signed him when we were looking at him

You and your hindsight Marcus, I don't know why you're unable to accept that there were people who wanted us to sign Alonso at the time.

You're straight up being told that we did and you won't believe it, it's like you're calling us liars.

Read my last post - I KNOW there were people that wanted to sign him Nacho - I know there were also people who scoffed at some of the asking prices - hell I wanted him in our side as he's a class player (I wanted him too but I was shocked by some of the figures quoted). Still think there's more to it than a simple "asking price" disagreement Never denied that there were people on both sides of the fence so how can I be calling you liars? You seem to be denying that people didn't want to pay the higher reported fee which makes me a liar in your eyes.

It's the way you keep on saying "not many people, if any, wanted to sign him at the time but they wish we had in hindsight" when you've been told by several people on more than one occasion that they did.

I wouldn't have paid any old daft amount of money for him personally but even though the reported figure was more like six I would have been happy with up to ten.

If it was a £15,000 car and you were looking to sell it for £5,000 today, or £0 in 6 months, I'd buy it today. I wouldn't risk something going wrong in that 6 months that was out of my control.

That all depends how badly he needed the car. Waiting 6 months for something you need immediately doesn't make sense. We badly needed M'Vila (or a player of equal ability). In a roundabout way could stand to lose 7m because we'd have pay much more than the quoted 8.5m to get a player of his standard.

Because it would have been ours if we'd paid the fee.

It's a monumental financial land footballing **** up, yet again, by the jokers at the top of the club.

****ing boring innit. Loves pointing out how right he was but when things he didn't predict happen..."it's easy with hindsight", soz Marcus you've been nailing the board with "I said this would happen" posts, nobody else does this... I'm pissed.

    Who gives a ****?
