Hamilton is going to love it if he has boatass as his teammate. No challenge for #1 spot. Btw. Anytime before 2004, when they started the 25 pts for a win, rewarding consistency over winning, Hamilton would have won title. He was bolloxed by the ridiculous modern scoring system.
Don't agree. Bottas is a very good driver and deserves a better car than he's getting at the moment. He'll certainly be challenging for wins next year in that car. Hamilton will obviously be odds on favourite and rightly so because he's probably the best driver in the field in the best car. Who else is there for Merc to go for though? Drivers have already been signed up, they don't want their reserve driver as not ready to step up yet... unlikely to be able to get Vettel, Alonso, Verstappen, Ricciardo who would challenge Hamilton the most. Regarding points system, it encourages drivers to go for the win. Much like 3 points for a win compared to 2 for a win and 1 for a draw in football... the gap needed to be higher to encourage teams to try win more rather than settle. Should push people to overtake and go for win. Maybe they went a bit too far, maybe 25, 20, 18, 15 etc would have been better split though At least they got rid of double points in final race, what terrible idea that was!
Bottas is a good fit for Mercedes. He's easy to manage i.e. won't cause hassle / fireworks, is level headed, experienced and fast. He's also managed by Toto Wolff so the link is there and it was speculated that their connection would lead to him getting the seat. Hamilton is clear favourite for the title for obvious reasons - knows the team inside out, faster driver, master of mind games - how much Bottas can rise to and go against that is the interesting thing. No doubt he's got the talent and can certainly win in that car. It's just how he adapts handles the situation and times to come. Massa staying on with Williams is also a sound decision. Unlike Button, Massa didn't really want to retire but after talks where Williams told him they were bringing in Lance Stroll for 2017 'agreed' to step aside seeing they were understandably starting to plan for the future with Bottas as lead driver. But with that vacancy for an experienced driver open at the team again and relations still good between Massa and them it's a no-brainer to give him the seat. Just shows how timing around contracts and availability can alter the course of a driver's career. Bottas could could nab a world title now due to his availability for Merc. Compare to Alonso who locked himself in with McLaren ... could've had a year out this season gone and come back 'if' a seat at a good team arose. One has arisen at the very best team and there's nothing he can do. Same with Vettel at Ferrari, locked himself in, thought he could lead them back, didn't work, fell out with management who will now never let him out of his contract, nevermind that he still has too much time left to run anyway to switch.
Good news for RHC, even he can have a girlfriend now... If he can figure out how to turn it on. The cost is $2600 for the early models. (Not sure what that is in post Brexit £... £5.2million perhaps) It's an automated assistant like Alexa and Google home, that will turn your lights on and off with your voice, but unlike Alexa it has a hologram girl on it that will flirt with you and be your girlfriend too. Only 300 are being made in the first batch and the first models only speak Japanese, but they're expected to sell out quickly.
On the plus side it's more useful than the unit. Just need to adapt it to pay rent and you're laughing.
Is that model based on the virtual girl app? Does look similar except they have programmed it to accept voice control etc.
I agree that bottas will be no challenge to hamilton at all and will be destroyed. he cannot be long term option though. ~I cannot see him win a world title as if hamilton goes next year vettel will walk in. I don't agree btw modern socring is ridiculous. If you look at last two hamilton titles would osmeone else have won those? I can't see massa coming back. jeez thats be silly no? was he really being pushed out this year or just retiring? I agree that if bottas goes williams really need experience i nthe car or they will struggle.
Just reading about 'The Purples' - City of Liverpool FC http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ird-team-in-liverpool-worth-keeping-an-eye-on Nothing to do with Purple Aki though, I dont think
Not sure where I stand on modern scoring system to be honest. Only thing I disagree on is way Hamilton was treated last race of season that even Rosberg understood. Team was out of order telling him to speed up when only way of wining championship was to put Rosberg under pressure to miss out on 2nd and 3rd and get 4th. Those 2 are clearly way ahead of the rest.
In general I like it, thats all i can say. It gives midtable bit of hope and encourages going for win. I agree on that last race. Rosberg should have been told if he wants to play go pass him you have every asset open to you now on car. the fact is rosberg didn't try and whined about sector one. Hamilton IMO had to try something. but then he should have tried it in earlier races more too. he needed someone to help him a wee bit earlier after the engine blow. he could do no more himself than he did in the end so i hope he takes that into next season and doesn't go off the boil again
Changes for the new season They are making the engines louder, for 2018 season though. Using something that isnt altogether natural apparently
