Game2: Winter will strand 30 contestants in the -40F (-40C) Siberian wilderness for nine months with the surviving winner receiving a $1.6m prize. It will stream 24/7 online. “Each contestant gives consent that they could be maimed, even killed,” reads an advert. “2000 cameras, 900 hectares and 30 lives. Everything is allowed. Fighting, alcohol, murder, rape, smoking, anything.” Contestants will each sign a waiver acknowledging that they might be raped or killed but the rules also state that police are free to arrest anyone who commits a crime on the show. “You must understand that the police will come and take you away,” the rules state. “We are on the territory of Russia, and obey the laws of the Russian Federation.” Contestants will be placed in a landscape where bears and wolves are likely to be living. According to the Siberian Times, knives will be allowed yet guns are forbidden. The show is the brainchild of entrepreneur Yevgeny Pyatkovsky who says he “will refuse any claim of participants even if they were to be killed or raped”. There won’t be a crew but rather 2,000 cameras dotted around the area. Each contestant will also have their own personal recording device. Willing participants need to be 18 and “mentally sane” to compete. “The show promises to be international,” Pyatkovsky said. “Five countries have already expressed the desire to broadcast it for their audiences.” He claims that 60 people have already applied, including one American. It seems a spike in the first part of the year but other than that normal. In my opinion it's a generational thing, people of a certain age obviously get affected by a celeb's death they have been aware of for a long time. For me for instance, the only 'celebs' that I really relate to that have died: D. Bowie, A. Rickman, M. Ali, Peter Vaughn (GoT). Other celebs that have died that I have heard of but don't really affect me at all: T. Wogan, R. Corbett, L. Cohen, F. Castro. So for me it's not been any different to any other year. But in 30 years time when a lot of my favourites start dying I will feel different, and no doubt some young upstart will be telling me it's no different to any other year...
There are many more people considered celebrities now....and we are just at the time when stars from the sixties would be expected to start dying. Bound to be a boom in deaths coinciding with ageing baby boomers reaching 65+ You'd also expect quite a few to die young due to a hedonistic life style in their youth. I have to admit some are dying that I already thought were dead.

A feel good story. An Indian businessman (with his daughters agreement) spent the 90K+ he'd set aside for her wedding to be spent on homes for the poor. Don't get me wrong....I have no problem with rich people spending more on a wedding than I could, but how much nicer to mark such an event by helping others.

Definitely, but you must also get a battery storage system so you can use the power generated during the evening and night. I had this in my last house, and didn't use any mains during the summer, and a lot less than before in the winter.
