All out of my league of course....Lake Bell?...I chatted her up one night...think I may be in there....
Watched blade runner. Well where do i begin, i think the concepts pretty cool, the world was awesome, was a really really good dystopian setting. However i found the film a bit of a slog and there was too much conflict with the final replicant, who was an evil murderous bastard, was dying himself, saw his true love replicant die, killed his father and the innocent gene guy who helped him to then see him finally "redeem" himself and saving deckard after chasing him around. I guess i just couldn't relate to any of the replicants or to deckard even though the world was incredibly immersive Some of the scene shots were beautiful though. Reading up about it to see what other people saw i guess makes this film much better than watching it (maybe it was cause i watched it on my phone?) but the themes were much more interesting than watching it imo. Maybe it will get better with re-watches but whilst i like the themes, it's not a film i could say i loved.
Not a sarcastic question..but what age are you? As in are you young and this is your first time watching back. 2nd question..what version did you watch...really important that... And...watch it on a big screen. Those beautiful shots were actually painted...3 times and then filmed in front of. I could go on..just go look at the making of to see just how brilliant that film job was... Might have already said this is one of my favourite films... Oh and read the PK Dick book....bizarre utter bollox...
Yea think it was you who told me to watch it and that it was brilliant. I'm 30 but quite immature and it is correct it is the first time watching back. I appreciate some films are really artie and that there are those who appreciate brilliant shots. I can see this film is one of those but it doesn't float my boat too much. I do really like the world they have built, one of the best i have seen. I guess i just wasn't that intrigued with the story too much and my thoughts are too conflicting with how ricky acted. I enjoyed the discussion after thought that i read about what makes someone human which i guess really brings the film out. Maybe i wasn't concentrating enough as i was watching it in chunks (travelling to work, 1 hour journey) but normally when i get into a film i have to keep watching it whereas i didn't feel that with this. Not sure which cut i watched, lets just say it was from the internet . Doesn't harrison ford look really weird that young!. Also that scene where he literally forces himself on the replicant was super weird... i thought the point was she developed feelings for him but it didn't act like it!
Cool..wasn't asking your age to take the piss..I was too young to see it first time out..then watched it at 12 as a star wars fan and thought it was crap. Then years later saw the directors cut (which wasn't the actual directors cut lol) and appreciated it more in its age..2001 etc..it is an arthouse film but beautifully crafted. Yes..actually you've at least been watching the directors cut if it's shown the almost rape scene...our age doesn't tolerate that yet it was striving for the film noir of the forties while showing the darker edge to those films suggestions.. Sorry...it's not remotely the best film in the world but ...in many ways it is one of the best "how to do it" films... Youtube Mark Kermode documentary on it. Honestly, I can't stress enough How much these young cgi twats could learn from it...
I don't think I've ever seen blade runner. One of those ones I want to see but just haven't yet. Finished last episode of Last Kingdom last night. After episode one is was really well made. Nothing is ever as good as the book, but that was a fitting conversion to TV. Ending seemed a bit of a gloss over. Watching end of season 2 of Marco Polo tonight. Sad. I've enjoyed that too. Man in high castle season 2 starting back now though. . The Path season 2 starts next month too.
Oh...oh...dear God...where do I begin with the finale of the crossover. 1) it makes no sense...and I mean even in the crazy world of superheroes...it makes no sense even with the characters I've watched for three years....time travel...superhero powers etc. 2) it broke the marvel rule...I know..it's DC but even so..big world wide threat but not only are the DC big guns apparently asleep..even the tv big gun apparently sat on the side line despite being part of the team because apparently the green arrow felt a bit emasculated.... 3) the direction and dialogue was ****e...again it made 3 series that had got comfortable look like amateurs... 4) the scenes looked amateur... Proved my gut instinct after watching only 3 episodes of legends...it's bollox...it made the ending of this bollox and the sad gamble of propping up the one legged cousin of the four a big failure.. Grrrrrrrrr...the first 3 were good because the first 3 series were good...the finale was ****e because the fourth is ****e..
