Time to change things up and go 4-4-2?

By all accounts last night represented an improvement in performance but the lack of goals is extremely worrying. The lack of width and pace seems to be a problem. We clearly don't have the creativity to break down defences. I always preferred a style of play with 2 out and out wingers running at pace and whipping crosses in. Of course, it makes us more vulnerable defensively but is it worth a go? Something needs to be done to stop the downwards spiral and for that to happen the goal drought has to end.

Kerry to stop the spiral, we need someone to score

    we have no-one
If we had scored a couple of times last night when we were running the show, we would have won...simples

We need to score...wingers can put in crosses...but someone needs to be on the end of them

Who reralistically can we get ?
I'd look to the Scandi leagues for a potential goalscorer, like Christian Lund Gytkjær at Rosenborg or Teemu Pukki who used to be at Celtic and is currently top scorer for Brondby...or Joselu at Lugo in La Liga 2 in Spain...just a few I've come across in my travels recently.

We were unlucky last night, that's football for you.

Please let us not lose sight of what the situation is this season. Staying up in the division is the aim, and one I think we'll achieve. This toxic cycle of blaming the manager, 4-4-2, need a new striker etc. cannot continue.

Holloway deserves this January transfer window, and more importantly the Summer, to build the team he desires. This season is presumably being treated as an assessment of the squad more than anything.

I firmly believe we've got some talented players at this club, who just need the benefit of some continuity, like all successful teams have.

Don't get despondent, we'll survive this season, and next season we can push on.

You're far too sensible and rational to be a QPR fan :emoticon-0100-smile

But are we creating enough chances for our strikers to score?

It's difficult to play two up top with only one fit striker.

Play two wide players who actually play wide and get the ball in the box and you will score in this league.

That's my thinking. No need to over complicate it.

Polter would definitely score more if we played with proper wide men (and we do have them in Shodipo and Wzsyolek), he's good in the air and looks to get on the end of crosses, we just don't deliver enough crosses. I suppose if it were that easy we'd all be football managers.
