Was a very good strike, to bend it in like that, on his weaker foot as well, and beat the keeper, still flashes of his world classness, though just seen on MOTD Shearer disagrees :)

    Gee I wonder why?
Could be because it never happened.
Same reason Rojo wasn't sent off probably. Shouldn't have even been booked, never touched the player one bit, the guy leaped over him.

I gotta ask, the elbow, did it happen in football or was it an astroball foul?

So jumping in 2 footed isn't a red card? Suppose trying to punch someone and missing cos they duck isn't a foul either if no contact?

you can't leave the ground and jump in 2 footed. Rules state that contact doesn't need to be made, the intent just needs to be there

Of course it happened, its on video tape at Salford quays(they even showed it bod), it was mentioned on their rolling match coverage earlier and mentioned on a few of the tabloid sites but not on motd.

And wouldn't you "leap over" an off the ground two footed leg breaker?, its the intent as well as the contact that's punishable.

But its only a leg breaker if his feet are off the ground when contact is made. (See Aguero's "tackle" against Luiz the other day)
Which is moot because contact wasn't made.
