Wow. It seems like a safe job to have but when stuff like this happens, it's a lot more dangerous than you think.
just been reported live on ITN that up to a 100 youths are roaming the streets around Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre smashing windows and taking goods.
To be completely honest this country is all about control. People hate being controlled so mindless acts of looting and general thuggery are bound to happen, and will continue happening until the country lays off a bit. I am by no means sticking up for what they are doing, but come on we can't be naive and act surprised. The country is ****ed compared to other European countries. You never hear stuff like this happening in countries that don't control their people. An example of how ****ed this country is - I was walking down the road smoking a roll up (biodegradable) and put it out on the pavement. Got rushed by environmental police (who had been following me waiting for me to drop my ***) and arrested and fined on the spot £80. You can't tell me that that is a sensible thing for the government to be doing, just because they need to get money back they spent blowing the **** out of innocent people in Iraq, Afghan etc etc. That kind of behaviour against our own citizens is pathetic, and rioting and looting is part and parcel. The government need to change their basic approach to controlling the public, otherwise these riots will always happen. It is the only way for normal working class people to express their true feelings. Like i said i'm not promoting this kind of behaviour. But am i surprised? Am i ****. This will continue to happen until people get treated with respect.
To be honest mate, I am surprised at how far this has gone. Right now though, I think we need more control. If we back off, this is going to continue. We need the police to sort it out. These people are a bunch of mindless thugs. They need to be sorted out. Now.

I live in Birmingham. Its all just looting really, trying to get freebies. JD's, Footlocker and even Primark () It's come down a main road near mine too!
Yeah short term that is what will happen. They will gain control, it's happened before loads of times! Long term the problem needs to be solved, otherwise it is a certainty to return. The problem is far deeper than the rioting. The rioting is purely a symptom of the problem.

Thanks for the comments of support, I'm trying to figure why they would loot Primark, I reckon it must have been a case of the lads thinking the partner will moan if I don't get her something Edit - I've literally got news coming in left right and center. Apparently its getting very serious now, the police are locking down Bullring but its moving across the city, literally thousands of people joining in now.
