Abel - £15m - we were offered £20m in the summer for a kid who's never scored regularly in the PL, he still hasn't. Robbo - £15m Clucas - £10m - less than what Burnley paid for Hendrick and Clucas is better Snodgrass - £8m - could probably get more but getting old Livermore - £5m Huddlestone - £3m Davies - £2m Dawson - £2m Odubajo - £5m - once fit Elmo - £4m Dio - £3m Mason - £7m Marshall - £3m Jak - £3m Maguire - £6m As Bruce said before he left. If you want to sign British players like Snodgrass and Livermore, with the daft increase in prices, you'll pay £12-13m for players we signed for £7-8m. Everyone else are asking for stupid prices, Watford turning down £30m for Deeney, Burnley wanting a similar figure for Keane, James Tomkins going to Palace for £10m and Henrick going to Burnley for £10.5m.
£8m is generous for Snodgrass given his contract situation. But you're right. Not sure Clucas is better than Hendricks either, but Clucas has certainly been more value for money.
It's just a balancing act really. Snoddy has 5 goals and 2 assists in 14 PL games. That's very decent for a wide player in a poor side. I didn't include the likes of McGregor, Meyler, Bruce, Weir, Keane either.
In that case at the end of last season Leicester would have cost more to buy than Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham as their players had just proved themselves superior. The thing is the value of a football club isn't arrived at in the same way as most other businesses.
So you have paid £130 million where the valuation is the supposed value of the squad and the fact you are in the PL, as there is no stadium like virtually every other club. The only thing is that the players are only of a value if you sell them. So to raise capital you sell the assets which are players. Then what? Play the juniors? Replace them with players that would cost more? Or players who cost less and guarantee relegation?
Why would you buy a club to immediately raise capital? You surely buy a club to grow it and sell it for more than you paid for it and make money that way. You could also receive money back from the club via dividends so you would get your original investment back over time.
You're a PLW, from Twitter experience. Accepting all what the Allams do as long as we're in the PL. Are you from Hull? Don't know, but you refer to it as "your city" You play a lot of video games. You're not business savvy You appear to be about 14. You believe Abel is worth over 50% more than what we paid for him despite also thinking he's failed. Basically you're clueless & a bit of a div but like to think & project that you know what you're on about.
That means a lot coming from you. I'll ignore the personal insults, but you're wrong on pretty much everything. Based on the fact that Kodjia went to Villa for £15m and he scored less than Abel, oh ye and we were offered £20m for him. A player is worth what someone is willing to pay. Villa were willing to pay £20m
He asked for your thoughts, Not your over generous appreciation of his listed character traits. Keep It Real Ben.
They're my thoughts. Don't want, don't ask. It's the new nicer me. Previously I'd have told him he's a ****.
