Been listening to radio 5's Monday Night Club with Mottson, Claridge, etc. They dismiss our chances of challenging and think our chances of top 4 are "outside". That convinces me that what I see will happen.

    So TOP 4 Nailed On

    BUGGER

They've all done their tips for the season and each one of them has predicted Liverpool in the top 4.

    I'm worried now!

Steve Claridge is an awful pundit in my opinion.

Listening to talkSPORT at the moment and Mark Saggers has us 7th! With Spurs 4th and Everton 5th! It's safe to say I was a bit surprised when I heard that!

I reckon we'll win the league as Fat Dolan has predicted we'll not finish any higher than 4th as he doesn't think Andy Carroll or Jordan Henderson are title winning standard players yet Ashley Young and Phil Jones are.

Tell him to get down the bookies if he thinks that, they are always happy to take easy money from idiots.

Claridge is a turd indeed. Such a boring person. Not great for a pundit is it?!

I think top 4 will be difficult, but it is do-able.

I'm guessing Arsenal, if Spurs are 4th.
God knows how some of these 'pundits' get jobs. You could ask any bloke in the street to give a prediction and 9/10 would be more accurate than that rubbish.

Best to ignore pundits, last year chavski were supposed to runaway with the title and Manure were supposed to be too weak to win the league, how'd that turn out for them??
Also Woy was supposed to be a stable pair of hands for Liverpool, hmmmmm.

Most pundits couldnt predict 6.00pm at 5.55pm.

So Everton spend precisely nothing, and somehow overhaul Liverpool who finished above them despite one of the worst periods in their history, and the fact we've spent £40mil odd strengthening the team. Oh and throw in the fact we have no European games. Excellent punditry. Seriously, who employs these imbeciles?

That was on the radio in the car before and I laughed out loud when Saggers said 5th for the bitters...because they have a good first 11 and they might stay fit all season :D how many teams have the same 11 fit for every game of a season these days??? What a dildo

Who cares..they are all dicks esp Claridge,sh**e player and even worse pundit.Let them write us off,it's always best to be written off and then prove them wrong. The fact that they think Everton will finish above us says everything.Yes they have a good 1st 11 but if that includes Saha then that will last for 3 games tops.
I think we will finish 5th at worst but will probably end up above Arsenal in 4th esp if Fabrgas and Nasri go (mind they have just signed Chamberlain from the saints..just what they need..bet gooners fans are well pleased!!)

Has Claridge been given a brain transplant and the donor was Tony Cottee. Thats the only reason I can think of for him to come out with something so stupid. 2 years ago Cottee was tipping West Ham for europe. The only time West Ham players see Europe is when they go on their summer holidays or join another club.

    these guys are farily dumb.

everton are really easy to predict. first you look at thier squad, then you go ask someone if moyes has bother himself at all in preseason. Its simple either everton start of disasterously or they go flying. the only way everton will finish 5th is if a miracle happens. If arsenal actually bid for and unsettle jagielka they could fall apart!

Astno villa re better bets for 5th than everton desipte selling their best wingers for the past two years. the yonug players there have real talent as does bent.

I have blogged my opinion on the top 4, it has not yet changed. city utd chelsea arsenal

I also fully expect spurs to finish 6th.

    simple.

a predction isn't worth much anyway but to predict a side like everton will beat out arsenal liverpool and villa is madness when all it takes is tim chaill to fall over badly.

The top 5 battle will be between Arsenal,Everton,Aston Villa,Spurs,Bolton,Stoke and Fulham.
My tip is Arsenal to win it,it will however be the only thing they will win.

agreed, i hope we play some great stuff this year, I have to say we've done good work so far but still have a way to go to resolve some other issues. I epxect january and next summer will do so.

Right now we need carroll to stay fit, kuyt to be his back up... agger to stay fit, aurelio to stay fit... All in all i don't see how in the current market that we could have done much more with our resources than we have done. hoping enrique joins late on at this point.

Once we get in to this seaosn and get suarez back in action we'll have a very strucutred team that should be able to complete.

the only question kenny must answer is our away form, get that 20% better and top 4 could be on.

    I really can't wait!

There has been a lot of nonsense that we spent all our money on midfielders. No we didn't...we spent £7 million on a midfielder...Charlie Adam.
Henderson and Downing were signed to to assist in the wide areas Henderson is a right sided player that can also play central midfield like Steven Gerrard,Ray Parlour,David Beckham. Downing is a natural winger.
So the only one that is really a ''midfielder'' is Charlie Adam.
