So Mourinho has pretty much confirmed Morgan is for sale. I wonder how much they would want for him?

I'd love us to sign him but it won't happen in January for certain, slim chance of next summer though. More than anything I'd hate for him to go Everton!

 

Then steer clear of the premier league thread, haha. I posted a tweet from a telegraph reporter that Everton are moving forward with signing him. Man Utd hoping to recoup the £24 million spent on him.

 

He said pretty much nailed on for Everton which is a disgusting move for him. Everton fans I know say they don't even rate him and hope it's not true. COme home Morgan.

Not sure they will actually. It took a while for our fans to begin to see what he offers.

 

Why would it totally end his international career? Reckon it will be a good move for both him & Everton if I'm honest.

As I mentioned on the other thread, his first match could potentially be against us on Jan 2nd, if everything is agreed before the window opens. Can't see there would be too many complications with a transfer like this one.

 

He hasn't played consistently for 18mths. He's done 11 minutes this season, I certainly wouldn't be worried about facing him.

 

Indeed. He's not a "highlights reel" player. You need to see him first hand, week in, week out to appreciate what he brings to your side. Although given how little football he has played in the last 18 months, I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a little while to get him up to speed. I doubt that would be a problem here - most Saints fans I'm sure would give Morgan the time. But no doubt if Everton are splashing big on him, the fans would get quickly get restless for a while if he does indeed take his time.

If Everton really do want him (and it does make perfect sense, in so many ways), then I don't give us much of a chance (I think only Morgan's heart telling him to return 'home' would see us win). But regardless, I would like to think that we would at least try to sign him.

I know we have other positions that are a priority but one day I would love us to go in for Insigne. Every time I've watched him play he's been such a nuisance to defenders.

 

I have to say I really dont see Morgan getting back to his best like he was with us - he will simply be a slightly different player. Not saying he wont be good, but maybe in a different way.

And if he dont come back here, well he can play as bad as he likes.

 

My prediction for the January window is VVD off to Chelsea in exchange for two of their fringe players - maybe one bought and the other on loan once the League Cup semi is decided. I do not know if Chelsea can renege on the season long loan with Bristol City regarding Abraham but could he be the striker that Southampton surely need?

 

VVD is going nowhere in January.

 

Is he any good these days? Mind you, when it comes to strikers, I'm not feeling all that fussy currently.

Maybe, maybe not, but he will go. I hope he goes to Real Madrid as he deserves the very best (Manchester United, City, Liverpool, Chelsea are not in the same class as RM, Barca or Bayern) so when he goes I hope it is to one of these three for about £60m due to the plummeting £ against the euro.
