Eh? They will takeover a debt free club because they'll have to pay all the debt off! To do that they may well borrow money...against the club...putting us into debt Whichever way you look at it we have currently got a huge debt, that we're paying interest on
It's Xmas, have a little hope. But this was all start by Bartlett and his merry band. I don't think there's any doubt we're overpriced. Many have bought Championship clubs and expected it to be a breeze to get into the PL when we know it really isn't (e.g. Villa & Wolves). I don't imagine that any new owner will be put off by the fact that us fans are distanced though as it can be remedied so easily. We have a great set of loyal fans, they just have to be treated right. Depends how much money they have.
You forgot to say that the decision to choose Steve Bruce was not theirs. They don't have a clue about football so asked an advisor who to suggest a manager. They've now predictably fallen out even with that advisor, so in effect have zero football knowledge to guide them in their 'running' of the club.
I understand all that is required for success is to shorten the name of the team by making it slightly longer. Piss easy this football lark.
Yes, Newton Heath never looked back after shortening their name to Manchester United. Ardwick to Manchester City... Of the original 12 members of the football league of the 11 surviving members only one one has altered its name in the 128 years since. Stoke added the common and irrelevant City in 1926.
Presumably when Stoke was awarded city status. Pretty much like every other club did. All this **** because old man Allam doesn't like the council.
Yes, they altered it a year after they were awarded city status. Though plenty of other clubs didn't add city to their name after their towns were awarded city status.
Rubbish. The value of most clubs is the ground and potential. We don't own our own ground and the potential is debatable. The lowest occupancy of seats in the PL is hardly a sign of great potential to possible buyers, is it? You can buy clubs with larger grounds and bigger crowds than ours for not much more than what the Allams want. A squad only brings value if you sell it and replace it with one costing less, which is hardly a recipe for success.
And? You think his stock has increased, decreased or remained the same over the last 5 months? We'd be lucky to get £7m now
Well it's an asset, the same way a computer is or stock. He's still a proven Championship striker and Villa bought Kodija for £15m. If we wanted to buy Hernandez, we'd be quoted £15-20m so why would we sell him cheap?
I think it was pretty much confirmed that we agreed a fee to sell him, something daft like £20m, and he turned it down because he wanted £80k per week or something ridiculous like that. Obviously his stock will have fallen a little bit since then, and we don't know how much anyone would be prepared to pay now. Personally I still think we were ripped off paying £11m or whatever it was.
