Ish ... you had a bigger and way more expensively assembled squad, than us ... and didn't so much run out of steam as blow a gasket when the pressure increased ... but I take the overall point

 

We were knocked out by one of the best teams in Europe -Borrusia Dortmund. At that time, and until the last few games, we were still maintaining a challenge for the league title.

How's you title defence going, btw??...

 

Trust me the Europa is not beneath you....wow one season in Europe has got to your head.

 

I know it's not a contest but in March to June 1979 my mother lost her brother 43 (cancer) her mother and her husband 49 (heart attack) ..

We simply don't have a squad big enough, or good enough to compete for both the PL and Europe. Neither do Leicester.

The pressures of English football are enormous. The PL is without doubt the most competitive in the world. There are few easy games. Almost anybody can beat anybody. Then there's the FA cup. The Carling cup. Throw in internationals that some of your players have to travel tens of thousands of miles to compete in for their country, and you've got a recipe for failure.
