True, but he was a battler, a trier, a never-give-upper and others could feed off that drive and positivity.

I agree, Cromer, but only up to a point. We have to also remember how often he gave the ball away with his pathetic passing (even now his pass success rate in CM for Derby is only 72%).

Thats only one example of his underlying attitude, we dont see what goes on behind closed doors in the dressing room but now the brown stuff has well and truely hit the fan we are slowly starting to see his the real person come out. The players arent stupid and points table dont lie, they havent turned bad of their own choice and i do believe that they need to take responsibility as pro's but the chopping changing in teams selections and under laying attitude (AN owns disbelief in himself) and sense of entitlement has eroded away what little confidence we had.

Any body could be in that highly paid position he is in right now and losing games, i cant see anyone else could do any worse with the players he has to pick from, its up to him to get that winning mentality back something that i cannot ever see happening now. Confidence is a fragile thing and something a good man manager should be able to change, AN is not that type im afraid.

The team are losing points as way of payment for him to be given the chance to see if he can get us out of this mess, something has to give very soon and im guessing tonights games will be the tipping point imo.

Wow. Quite a few assumptions there, YF. I don't profess to know what goes on in AN's head, but I do know that the players need to graft so that their skills can be used to the full. I do agree that tonight's and Friday's matches are crucial to what happens next, if anything.

I dont either but the press conferences and results speak for themselves, these players are much better than this i think we all agree on that and at present the results cant get any worse so something has to give., Either sell\buy a lot of new players, change the manager or keeping dropping down the league....

A bit more on the little Bradley story, this is the young man, 5 years old, who has been given 2 months to live. He's a massive Sunderland fan and is mascot at their game v Chelsea tomorrow night.

This is a post on my friend Cypressyd's site:-

Bradley wants to score a goal against Chelsea so before ki k off tomorrow another drezm will come true.
Chelsea have arranged for it to happen so please, please, please lets hope the hundreds who come in on kick off, they must force down that last pint, lets hope they can get in a little early for Bradleys big moment.

And there are cash tur dtyles so if you can make it get yourself there, it's only one night out of a life time, a very short life time in Bradleys case.

From the now (in)famous Henry Winter article in the Times recently:-

Michael (WJ) laments: “When you’re fielding a [club] side without a single Englishman, that’s a nonsense.” But what if Norwich were promoted with an all-foreign side? “I genuinely don’t think the supporters would like that at all,” replies Michael, who takes hope from the academy, which is not cheap to run.

Ironic, seeing as our best players currently are Portuguese, (NO & IP), Swedish (MO) and Norwegian (AT) [can see ILD going :emoticon-0145-shake as I type <laugh>]
Throw the assorted Scotsmen and a couple of Paddys into the mix and what he said was clearly nonsensical <ok>

Whilst it is nice to have home grown lads in the side, it is utterly unrealistic to think you could ever have a full XI of them. Most academy lads these days seem to have been pinched from the 4 corners of the British isles and beyond these days anyway, so why it should make any difference in this day and age is beyond me? A home grown player I could imagine might well have a bit more passion for City like the Murphy's, but playing with passion is as much a state of mind as a strong bond with a club. I would take 11 passionate foreigners over 11 over entitled british players any day. I often wonder about how badly run our youth systems are run with the poor attitude that often seems to be charactoristic of British players. Probably too much too young. Look at the passion of a Grolt who only got it late.
And at the moment I would say two of our best players are English in JH and JaM.

Of our 25 senior players, 7 are foreign players (so less than a third) and of the six youth players in current squad only one is foreign (Canos). I'd say that proportion is about right. All of those young players are either pre-academy or imported, so we have yet to see the benefit of Academy status, but I think we will in time.

I just read that, whilst both of their two defeats in the last 7 games were heavy ones, a win against the binners has kept them well in contension for the playoffs. Has the world gone stark staring bonkers?
I recognise the irony of critising another club for sacking their manager whilst in a very similar position to ourselves, whilst calling for our own managers head! But surely they can't have been counting on loads better at this stage of their development curve? They don't have one of the two best squads in the division <whistle> They don't have super Alex Tettey! :bandit:
Question is should we sack Neil and hire Rowett or do we want someone with more experience? Would our board even think about going for someone with lots of experience? Would someone experienced accept peanuts?
