If that's the case he hasn't told us anything we didn't know. I assumed with him saying they've been to see the Allams a few times this month he knew something I didn't
I only know they want us over Reading. I don't know whether they've been successful with another bid, presumably we would have heard something if they have.
Well if they went to Bellend Road last night they'll probably be in for the white shyte by end of week !
Craig Murdoch, last couple of minutes of RH Sportstalk last night. To City fans "be careful what you wish for; the Allams have done pretty well as owners so far haven't they". Of course, it went unchallenged by MW. WTF! Beggars belief. Idiots.
Can't see any reports on a takeover in the local Reading press since 28 Nov. Gone very quiet there too.
Apart from this two days ago? (On the thread a couple of pages ago) http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/f.../reading-fc-takeover-chinese-brother-12301524
people outside the club will have difficulty - and little time invested researching - to really get a grasp of what's going on for them it may appear as simple as Allams + PL & Cup success last couple of seasons = healthy On paper it looks good doesn't it? best period in HC history What they can't fathom is the feeling in and around he club, the ticket pricing, the Airco, the comments, the leadership, the lack of working with the council, not embracing City of Culture...
The Allams have been out best ever owners and that is a FACT. There will still be an amount of disappointment when they leave and this era of unprecedented success is brought to a close. Let's just keep our fingers crossed we don't end up with some Venky's types.
The Allams haven't been our best owners by a long way. They gave money to Steve Bruce to buy success and that is it. They are nowhere close to filling the KCOM, they have alienated thousands of potential City supporters by closing the Airco Arena and they have a relationship with the freehold owner of the stadium which is so toxic we'll never see a 35,000 seat stadium whilst they are in charge. To me success is about building a strong football club. They may used their money to bring unprecedented success but we are in a weaker position than we were under Bartlett.
We really aren't. We have a decent squad which is full of assets and the new owner will probably take over a debt free club. Getting the fans onside isn't a difficult job for any new owner. Bring back concessions, drop the name change, back the gaffer in the transfer window and make sure that the club works closely with the HCST. Do that and many fans would flock back.
They will take over a debt free club by paying a ridiculous amount to clear the debts owed to the Allams and end up with a name. No stadium though like other clubs who have been sold for not more than us in the PL with largest stadiums. If someone has £130million there are a number of Championship, clubs with larger stadiums and a larger fan base who haven't been distanced from the club, in cities which are more positive towards their local team they could buy and have tens of millions left over to get them into the PL.
