Also I thought that the challenge from Kosc which gave the free kick which then resulted in the corner Everton scored from, was a really good challenge. He seemed to win the ball from what I saw. No idea how that was a yellow and a free kick. Also thought Kosc got a hand to the face from lukaku in the lead up to it.
Should have played Perez rather than ox. Why buy him, if he won't play him. Ox has proved he is not good enough. Theo also goes missing far too often.
Clearly a penalty at the end of the game: http://arsenalist.com/f/2016-17/everton-vs-arsenal/oooh-iwobi-shot-off-the-line-ft-2-1.html
Meh. Not many will get three points there. Anyway, Oxlade, Walcott and Iwobi are not players who will drag a team performance up. I can't remember the last time we've played poorly but an individual helped us do something and it's been them. They play to the level of the rest of the team. If we're playing quality football they have the potential to do impressive things and often do. If we're playing abject like today then they do little. We have numbers and could play three different pairs each game to support Sanchez and Ozil but I still don't think we have enough first team attacking quality to win us the league. Ramsay, Perez, Oxlade, Walcott, Iwobi, Welbeck... I'd trade three of those just to get one automatic first choice class wing forward or striker.
Ok I been watching the clip and the Everton player clearly gets the ball before the Arsenal comes in to make contact with his right foot... Clearly no penalty but goes down easy.... 100% the Everton player makes no contact with the player but they both kick the ball and thats why he goes down
My list? They're not terrible. They're not even bad. They're good football players and they've played small roles in pushing us up near close to the top of the table and top of our CL group. But nevertheless they're only good enough to be squad players. They're players you use to rest your first teamers in the bits of games that are already over or use sparingly in games where the rest of the team can carry them slightly when the opposition is weaker. They're not players to rely on to start regular games and help you win the league, because they're not really good enough.
Looking back this is the case, no pen. The corner that led to the 2nd goal wasn't a corner though. But it was a hard one to spot to be fair to the ref.
Well... there is a need... getting a penalty. That said - there's no way you can tell either way from that blurry angle if there was contact.
There was another angle that BT sport showed. The defender just got there before Sanchez, he kicked the ball and his foot which is why Sanchez went down, but he did make contact with the ball first, it was close though.
Criticising Iwobi and Perez after this defeat is unfair. Iwobi has been really good and deserves his place in the team, he's scored two in the last couple of games and almost scored again tonight, which would have rescued a point. Perez has hardly had a chance at Arsenal yet, and still he managed to score a Hat-trick recently.
Iwobi is young yes. And worth holding onto. But he's not a player who, for quite some time, will help us win games like tonight's. Perez... meh... we've all seen him for quite a bit now and he's not done a great deal to suggest he's a starting player. Potentially lethal in games where we're overwhelmingly the better team, but not someone who'll start 38 games a season and help us win the tough games. Again, a squad filler option. Assuming Sanchez is sort of our proper striker now means we have six options for the two wing forward positions, none of whom are THAT good. All six of them could be anonymous and you'd think... well that wasn't entirely unexpected. We need at least one top class wing forward. And if that one top class wing forward is Sanchez then we need a top class striker.
I'm not criticizing them individually. They did nothing wrong. Perez didn't even play. I'm stating that we have too many wing forward options and not enough of them are top class to help us get enough points to win the league... they're all just merely good. Rather than zero top class and six good options, we should have one top class and three good ones.
