You see Kustard, you're not too old to learn. It's taken 5 months but you've finally mastered "safe space".

Interesting for those who want to know what is happening in Syria. Very different view to mainstream.

I suspect the truth is probably more balanced but it's easy to beleive the people of Aleppo have had enough, regardless who wins.

I've seen things by the same journalist and similar before, as I make a point of seeking out foreign news versions of events. It's why I mention on other posts that it's meaningless to criticise one element of our main stream media and associated groups, as they're all creating a story rather than presenting the news.

Good luck to this lady spreading her message of peace. I doubt the mainstream will give her much air time.

The contrast in the versions on the ground is pretty extreme at the moment.
Al Jazeera are going full anti Russia and Assad with claims of Civilian executions, while ITV have just interviewed a Syrian soldier about how relieved the people are to be free of fighting and start to rebuild their lives.

As you mentioned, the poor sods trying to live a life there are the ones bearing the brunt of these political maneuverings.

I don't know how the people at the top sleep at night. Not wanting to shift from your point, we (EU and UK) are not innocent but the Obama regime is up to its eyes in it, and Clinton would have taken it to another level. Hard to know if he'll follow it through, but Trump and more so Putin seem to be making the right noises about bringing peace.

A bit more elaboration on the same issue and includes the same lady, this time chewing up the US guy.

It's a shame about the title.

This is another Mint Press journalist, just like the one that DMD used to air similar views a while ago.
The guy that runs it is heavily linked with the Bashar regime, though there are doubts if the journalists are made aware of it.
Seeing as I can find that out though, they're not much good if they can't.

As you say, the truth is probably somewhere between the mainstream and other sources.

Was that the one where they followed the white helmets? If not, it's worth a google to see what the journalist meant. I'll not divert the thread by posting the video, but a google will find a variety that show what she was saying, including a staged 'rescue'.

    Don't think so.

Are you talking about the Mannequin Challenge "staged rescue"? If so, then it's blatantly not supposed to be real:

Nobody's going to think that's a real situation, are they?
Where did you pick up that story, by the way?

I have seen that one, but there are plenty showing that some are far from what is claimed, but they'll no doubt just detract from the point being made by steve.

you seem to judge the message by the medium and not the message
surely you realise that is wrong

I judge both. Russia Today is literally propaganda and there's no way that a journalist doesn't know that.

Russia today is a well known, state owned propaganda machine for the Gvt.

That sentence doesn't make sense, unfortunately.
Were you asking if I'm saying that journalists talk bullshit because they're on Russia Today?
No, you've got it the wrong way round. Russia Today puts people on if they talk their particular brand of bullshit.

Don't get me wrong, not everything on there is either crap or wrong.
It all represents their agenda, though.
All extremely pro-Putin and anti-Western. They like your mate Corbyn, though! <laugh>
