Good interview with David Dein here http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14435219.stm No matter what your opinion of him, he is probably still the closest person to Arsene Wenger and his comments are a good insight into the current situation. It's also reassuring to hear him say that Wenger is trying to bring in 2 or 3 players.
My only problem is that we have heard this before from Both Wenger and others at the club. My issue is come end of August Wenger saying we tried but the right deal was not around. Dont get me wrong i agree with the rest of the article for me Wenger is the best man for us and that he has earned the right to try. But my fear is Wenger's stubbornness is coming into direct conflict with the reality of the modern football transfer market where players like Cahill/Samba/Jagielka are in the 15-20mn bracket as silly as it might be. If he has identified that defensive reinforcements are required (amongst other positions depending on who is going out) he will have to spend those figures or not get those players. My issue is Wenger doesn't believe this so will keep low balling till near the end give up and buy an alternative cheap option ala Squillachi last year. So yes I do believe he is looking at 2-3 players potentially more depending on Fab and Nasri but the question is who and for how much???
Our fans need to stop getting so emotional and be patient. It's clear we have the club's future in our plans and I'm sure Arsene will spend if he needs to.
Because we haven't won a trophy for six years and it's the most barren run in the club's history and Arsene Wenger is the worst manager ever.I'm 14 and i've been an Arsenal fan for a long time and things have never been this bad
I'm a real fan and i'd go to every game if i could get a paper round and spend my wages on tickets for games
If you stopped spending your pocket money on ***s and cider, then maybe you'd be able to afford to buy a ticket and become a real fan
