apologies I've done no research... Bit worried about Tom and all those spurs lot buzzzing around him. We know he can do it I just wish he did. It might even be a game for mason to make an appearance... off the bench!! Same team same subs. Result immaterial. Performance needed.
The Tottenham pitch contains enough nylon twine to stretch around the world. For a brief period during the First World War Spurs had to play home games at Highbury as the Lane had been taken over as a gas mask factory. Similarly, for a short while during the Second World War, Arsenal used White Hart Lane whilst Highbury was commandeered as a First Aid and Air-Raid Precaution centre. Arsenal made the promise that, as a thank you to Spurs for accommodating them, they will always incorporate a tiny bit of blue somewhere in there kit. In 1910, Spurs player William James Scott crafted a cockerel which was mounted on top if the stand and became the club icon. The family of Henry Percy owned land in the Tottenham marsh's. Henry Percy was made more famous by Shakespeare as Harry Hotspur, hence the club name. In 1963 Tottenham became the first British team to achieve success abroad when they won the European Cup Winners Cup. German Striker Max Seeburg joined Spurs way back in 1907 whilst still in the Southern League and became the first foreigner to play in the English Football League when Spurs were elected to join the Second Division in 1908. In 1901, Sandy Brown, is still the only player to have scored in every round of the FA cup netting 15 goals, itself a record that remains unbroken. Spurs hold the record for the most goals scored in a Premier League game - 9 (joint record) Ledley King scored the fastest ever Premiership goal - timed at 10 seconds in a 3-3 draw with Bradford in the 2000/01 season. Les Ferdinand scored the Premiership's 10,000th goal in Tottenham's 4-0 win over Fulham in December 2001. Andy Turner became the youngest Premiership goalscorer when he netted for Tottenham against Everton on September 5, 1992. He was aged just 17 years and 166 days old. Tottenham goalkeeper Erik Thorstvedt became the first Premier League substitute when he replaced Ian Walker in the first Premiership season in 1992. Spurs were the first team to win the UEFA Cup, which was established in 1971. Tottenham is the only team to have won the FA Cup whilst still plying their trade outside of the Football League. Spurs also became the first team to tie their colours to the trophy in celebration, a tradition which has remained ever since. The very day in 1919 that Arsenal grabbed Tottenham’s place in the First Division, the club’s pet parrot collapsed and died. The parrot had been a gift from a ship’s captain as the Spurs team returned from a 1908 tour of Argentina & Uruguay, and it lived a healthy and happy life on its perch at White Hart Lane for a full 11 years before its untimely end. It’s sad demise is thought to be where the phrase 'as sick as a parrot' came from. It is believed that whilst a train crosses over a railway bridge, no manager of Tottenham Hotspur should pass beneath. The founders of Tottenham were a group of schoolboys, many as young as 12. Tottenham adopted the blue and white colours after being impressed watching Blackburn win the cup. This coincided with them moving to a new ground at Northumberland Park, and with the Percy family having links with Northumberland, they nearly changed their name from Hotspur FC to Northumberland Rovers, but chose Tottenham Hotspurs instead. Graham Souness came through the Spurs youth system. Spurs are the only English side Diego Maradona played for, when he appeared in Ardiles testimonial.
Prior to the play off final in 2008 the largest crowd Hull City had ever played i front of was aginst Spurs at White Hart Lane, 66,889, in Division Two in the 1949/50 season.

Not much in the way of team news, though we'll almost certainly line up exactly as we did against Palace. Mbokani will be back for West Ham on Saturday and Hernandez is expected to be available for Man City on Boxing Day.
Bigging up the opposition again. I'm sure some players feel they've lost the match before they even set foot on the pitch. They're not even in the top 4
last Friday i'd have been calling this out as us getting our proverbial back doors smashed in, after Sat tho, everything's changed, still think we'll get beat, but it may not be utterly depressing if we show some balls again
What annoys me though John is that all 5 seasons we've been in the Premiership we've had a lack of self belief for most games. We're in this division on merit because the team earned the right last season. The players need to believe they can get a result.
I know we need a performance but we need a result too! Most of the teams around us have got results where they wouldn't be expected to get a result from time to time. We need to do the same, especially as we've failed to get results in a lot of games against teams around us. Not sure there are any free hits now given our league position.
