If Karius has saved his Anfield career as the thread title suggests it's the first thing he's saved all season. #wum #cantgetthewumsnowadayshavetodoitmyself #overlonghashtags
This is an argument that Klopp and Karius cannot win unless he knuckles down and stops making basic errors. Once he's done that, he would answered his critics in the best possible way. If he makes more errors, and we drop points, then the critics will come out in force.
It's also an argument that Karius and Klopp have made worse. Klopp knew this by saying "there is your headline" or something along those lines
It's not really an argument, the Nevilles, Carragher and several others pointed put what everybody could see. Klopp and Karius responded with snide remarks about a mans first steps into management in a foreign league at a big club, they didn't even have the sense to realise that the two experienced guys who followed him have done a lot worse and that club is now in the relegation zone. Football men eh, not a brain cell between them.
To be fair the guy who actually did the interview with Karius after the Bourenmouth game actually defended him and said he was completely respectful of Neville's achievements, and that his comments have been misrepresented. Its the Sky pundits that overreacted to it and threw a hissy fit about the comments.
This is what always happens. The media have the upper hand completely in these cases - it's their home territory after all. I just think it's safer not to take them on, because they hold all the aces.
I'm not too concerned. Ferguson called Neville and others idiots for crticising De Gea during his first season. Ferguson didn't allow the media to set the agenda and bully his players in public, either is Klopp, which is good on him, its what a strong manager does. Also Schmeichel said of Neville's criticism of Mignolet: "It was a character assassination that Gary Neville did to Simon Mignolet," Schmeichel added: "I'm looking at the goals and I'm thinking, 'What do you expect? Do you really honestly expect him to save everything?'. "I just think what was done on Monday Night Football was out of order because it was a really, really good shot, and it was demonstrated how low he was, but by someone who's played right-back all his life." I think the pattern here is that football managers and ex-goalkeepers have all basically said Neville knows **** all about goalkeeping
I've very little time for pundits of any sort - I don't really need the game explaining to me and I'm not interested in their egos. It's just my personal opinion that we'd be better off not getting involved. Having said all that, if I were Klopp or Karius, I'd probably tell the Neville Brothers to go and **** themselves. Or each other.
They have to..as mancs it's usually the sister but she's an ex netball player....far too tall for them to reach...
