sorry to say this but we looked more solid without him in the side yesterday. Would like to see Diame get a run of games now. Thoughts?
Think he has a good first touch which can make up for his lack of physical strength. Think we should stick with him as he could develop into a very good No 10.
I think this season Perez will be best serving us from the subs bench. As someone said... in the PL he will develop more but for now we probably need power over finesse.
He is very weak and I still maintain his odd flash of quality papers over a lot of cracks. I think he would suit the Spanish league as he would get more time on the ball.
Still have (some) faith in him developing into a good player for us. The Championship was always going to be tough on him though. He does need to quicken up his ..thinking. Dawdles for that fraction too long..without the bulk to hold onto the ball (not that he will ever be bulky as such)
Overrated for me. Always has been. Still has a lot of potential but he hasn't made much progress. Put it this way, if Pardew was in charge it would be "its the managers fault he has been Pardewed" "he's not developing because the manager doesn't know where to play him" etc etc. Now because its Rafa, the manager won't get the blame or "patience" will be required. The concern for me is we have missed the boat in making some money out of him because he looks quite limited.
not being funny, but how do you get that ? he was plucked from a spanish second division side and was thrust into the spotlight due to an injury crisis and lack of cover for the likes of Cisse, he did better than either De Jong, Sissoko Thauvin, Obertan, even Gouffran he was meant to be in the development team but had to step up to the plate straight away the fact that he had done so well in the first team was a bonus he also cost a fraction of any of the above mentioned
I mean overrated by our fans. We had posts and threads on here last year telling us that he was the next best thing. I have mates and people who sit beside me in the ground who were telling me he was a 15m-20m striker. To say I laughed would be an understatement. I respect anyones opinion but at the end of the day I go on what I watch. The lad is feeble and spends half his time falling over the ball. He is decent but he'll never be prolific. If he's not prolific then you are looking for creativity like say a Beardsley. He doesn't have that kind of appetite for the game, nor the vision or ability to thread those passes. I made my mind up when I watched him against Wolves this season. He got bullied by Borthwick-Jackson (who was very impressive to be fair). A few kicks and he didn't want to know. I also think people need to remember the lad is 23, not 19. I just don't see him as PL class and think we should have took the money when it was on offer (if the Spurs stories were true). I said it at the time and I stand by it now. To be honest I see more in young Armstrong already and I'm not even sure he'll make it. He is only 19. Nothing lost really though, he was cheap and it was worth a punt.
Probably the same people then that **** over Aarons and thought that because Liverpool got £50M for Sterling and seeing as Sterling and Aarons have similar physical features then he too will be sold for a shed load of cash. I believe at the time I said he was worth £1M.
Unless there is a dramatic improvement, Perez won't be good enough for next season if we get promoted, even as a back up, so I'd be flogging him at the end of the season. Possibly even next month if a Premier League quality number 10 became available.
