Perhaps you like to explain to us all HIAG, how Arsenal's average position isn't 3rd over the last 5 seasons ?

However, it is a well worn fact that you can prove or disprove anything you like with stats. I prefer to steer well clear of them, concentrating, instead, on the common knowledge around savvy pundits, such as myself, that Arsenal have made a habit of always finish 4th (on average). Ask anyone on the street, "where do Arsenal always finish?" and you can be guaranteed one answer - 4th.

 

That is true and anyone born since 1930 won't be able to remember it being otherwise.

If you are going to use stats, you need to have a large enough sample of data in order to obtain anything any where near meaningful.
