Jak would have saved the penalty.

    And then saved it again.

All while ordering a pie and a pint on the concourse.

    With his eyes closed.

    FACT.

IIRC Myhill was dropped after Christmas in 2009 and Duke was given an extended run (I remember he had a stormer in goal at Fulham when we won 1-0). Then when it was apparent that Myhill was actually a better all round keeper he came back in the side for the last couple of months.

And Myhill stayed as our No. 1 the following season. Then we sold him to WBA for a pittance (well I thought he was worth more than £2m)

That our team are far too cautious and feel more comfortable passing backwards to a defender in space than forward to an attacking player making a run.

Keepers make saves, great saves sometimes, saves they wouldn't have been blamed for if they didn't make them. Jak makes saves like this. Marshall only ever saves the ones he should. I'd say we'd have maybe five more points right now had Jakupovic been in goal all season.

We've once again paid well over the odds for a player who used to be good.

Yeah, cos every forward run off the ball is ignored when we're in possession.

There's one reason and one reason only that you're firmly in his camp, and that's because you saw him do well in a much-lesser league and championed his arrival.

No, not at all. I don't think he's done anything worth shouting about in the Premier League (I'm not counting the League cup, he was good there though), but mainly because we've taken him and put him in a much deeper role that he's used to playing in. He'll improve when the team improves, like a lot of AM do. To say he's done badly would be really wide of the mark.

And yeah, the last few weeks our full backs have been making plenty of runs that have gone ignored, it's one of the most frustrating things about how we've played. The players have got it into their heads that if they play it backwards, there's little chance of giving the ball away and less chance of being seen in a negative light by the manager/fans. Which is why Saturday was so much better, they took the risks and were rewarded for it.

I think that's fair enough. It's not like I'm biased, I'm not Norweigan or an AZ supporter, BCC is right in a way as I saw him playing in the Eredevise and he was outstanding. But what we've done is what we do most of the time, we take really good players and play them out of position, then the fans complain that they aren't very good.

All the same, we need to stick to the team and formation we played Satdee.

With the exception of Marshall for Jakupovic obvs.

No no no sterling you never do this. Assess the opposition, assess your own troops. Make changes you know this come on. Different teams different styles. Tut tut

But in this case it's the right call to make. Tottenham don't really play with width, they play through the middle with Ali and Eriksen, so our full backs won't be as exposed.

I disputed it at the time. It was an accusation that grew arms and legs and resulted in his loss of form and face.

Jakupovic has also done more and worked harder to earn the respect of the fans and to justify his entitlement to the number one jersey. At the moment he is superior to Marshall in every single department, it's embarrassing he is still getting overlooked. Maybe the fact that Mike has just registered the required formation and personnel change he's a bit slow on the uptake?

He's certainly not better in every aspect. Marshall is a safer pair of hands under crosses and his distribution is arguably better (neither of them have particularly good distribution though). I have a feeling that a lot of fans are going to be disappointed as I can't imagine Jak playing until the next cup games in Jan.

Yes. However, we got a Huddlestone masterclass in the first half especially, he controlled the game and some of his forward passes were just delightful. As a result Robertson pinned Zaha back and they really struggled to get out. Big question is whether we can count on Tom to do the same every week

I think you are in a minority of 2. If you and PLT tell yourselves and others that that enough times, maybe more people will buy into it. Sadly, I have seen them both play, and I can tell you that Marshall isn't better than Jakupovic at anything, on current form. You have seen the stats ** recently shared on here haven't you? Go and check them out, they'll underline why you are wrong.

**OPTA stats. Proper match related performance statistics. Not an opinion. Cold, hard facts.
