We only went and played a bloody 4-2-3-1 in the 2nd half. And not a weird hybrid 4-3-3, but an actual honest to God 4-2-3-1 with Boufal as the 10 and JWP on the right. I've rewatched it cos I thought I was crazy but it was definitely how we set up. Of course it only lasted until Boufal went off when we went back to 4-3-3... But... Baby steps?
Mr Attwell did a reasonable job, 7 yellows seems a bit excessive for a game that wasn't exactly a hot bed of emotion, I know a couple were silly ones for reaction born out of frustration over not getting protection from some subtle ankle tapping, Sophie in particular for petulantly kicking the ball away, most were for defenders "taking one for the team".
It wasn't great but a wins a win. Still not convinced by Puel but I'm also in no way in the "Puel Out" camp yet. Some away form now would do nicely.
At least one "mega Neggie" on Twitter having a strop because he had walked out at half time and missed the goal, serves him right.
I get the feeling that JWP could be a 10+ goal a season player in the future he just needs to learn to relax when he gets in front of goal.
That probably explains why Prowsey started to get further forward, and into the Boro box. I just thought Puel had given him more direction.
I thought we were very good against Everton & if we had more of a cutting edge that would have been a romp!
