To be fair, recent performances and lack of goals have left a lot of fans uninspired by the team. You can't blame people for not making a huge amount of noise.
Kept away from internet until we next won. I wasn't necessarily expecting that to be today. We really, really needed that win. It's a sad thing that last season I would hope to win every game, whereas I had no great hopes of beating Boro at SMS. Onwards and upwards.
The introduction of Redmond certainly helped to up our tempo, but another major reason for us looking better, as an attacking unit in the second half, was JWP pushing further forward. First half he barely crossed the half way line, except for the missed headed chance. Second half he was spending more time in the Boro half and making runs into their box, which helped to unsettle their defence. He needs to do/be given the opportunity to do this for 90 minutes, not just 45, as should any other midfielder (other than Romeu or whoever is playing the deep role). Unfortunately I think they play to instruction.
Considering how up and down this season has been, for a win at stoke to take us possibly a point behind united isn't too bad.
First half we were doing less sideways, backwards passing and were sending passes forward for JRod and Sophie to latch on to, but it kept leading to a loss of possession, so second half we went back to the "safer" passing movements, although even then we lost possession in midfield too often, we were allowing them the space between the half way line and penalty area, but rarely let anything get beyond there, helped by their lack of a striker.
how do you manage not to sneak a look at the " the whole teams crap, the system is crap, the manager is crap and the owners are crap" posts after every loss?
Absolutely no excuse for booing. Worried I'm going to get punched soon, because every time it happens I find myself unable to keep quiet about it.
Booing pisses me off.i know people spend alot of money to watch the saints and i understand people being frustrated, but supporting the team through tough times would be more helpful to the players than booing.thought we had better supporters than that tbh
Was expecting as people at the game filtered home someone would mention it but still nothing. Maybe I'm just crazy... That's maybe more notable for everyone else! It's probably the second biggest source of criticism so far this season after strikers/goalscoring - and oft mentioned by yourself. Being quite the cryptic twat now, but was genuinely expecting for there to be a huge deal made of it.
I recovered from my disappointment far faster than if I'd gone into a spiral of other people's misery. I didn't need to read it to know what was being said. Can watch MOTD safely now.
Or a Paddington hard stare Edit - wrong quote Fran: "Never see the point of booing. My limit is pursed lips."
