Win is a win. Quick summary: MOTM: Fonte Boufal is going to be class Boring game but we won. Need a attacking minded centre midfielder bad. Redmond was decent when he came on. I feel sorry for Jay, he gives it his all, but he just hasn't got it. Forster needs kicking training. It's cold
Much better half. They came out with a more positive approach and started making things happen. The goal did come out of nothing, but I thought we deserved it at that point. After that we dropped the intensity a bit, which is a shame, but it worked so I can't complain! Boufal was fantastic, but my MotM was Martina
So, so much better in the second half. Thankfully Boro set up to draw and didn't have any answers after going behind. Jay should have scored but a much needed win.
Hmm, 3 points are 3 points and job done but goodness we are a shadow of the side we've been in recent years. It's not good.
Redmond was good. Tadic looked off the pace in the first half but there was no movement from the from three in that half anyway. I thought Jay actually put a good shift in.
After doubting JRod before the game, he proved me wrong. Looked better than he has for a long time, so unfortunate not to have scored at the end, just can't catch a break at the moment. Hard earned 3 points, but 1 point away from 7th now, who wouldnt take that?!
Jay has lost his pace so badly. He used to be frightening when put through, nbut now he gets ivertaken by the milkfloat. Is it possible he overtrained while oit injured? Looks too muscular now.
You have to start to feel sorry for Adam Clayton. I kept this stat quiet before the game a second to not jinx things but Adam has never been on a side facing Saints that has won. 2010 - played for Carlisle, 1-1, 4-1 (jpt), 3-2 2011 - mk dons, didn't play in first game that we lost 2-0, came on a Saturday a sub at 2-0 up at st Mary's, saints won 3-2. 2012 - Leeds, 3-1 and 1-0 (super kelv) 2016 - Boro - 1-0 saints
Yes strange to say you start feel some of the points dropped are definitely now looking worse than they were at the time. We're only seven points off Tottenham Hotspur. Still Stoke next and we don't do 'away' any more.
Love it. Shame they closed the "Sack the Owners" thread. You could have gone on there. We won! Be grateful after the last two games. And against a side that denied Arsenal. Ask yourself, was it better than losing at home to Bristol City? I've decided not to waste a good meltdown, so I'll start a "Sack Puel" thread when the mods aren't watching.
Can't believe I've come on here to see no-ones noticed/mentioned the most important thing about that half. Not going to say yet either now cos I find it interesting it hasn't been after so much fuss.
His slowness is because of the injuries. After he injured his knee ( and had two ops due to it needing to be cleaned up) we got him to change his running style to put more pressure on his foot instead of his knee, but he then injured his heel due to the change. So he can hardly run any more.
Didn't realise but we are on same points as this years revelation West Brom. ALso same points as Everton and 1 behind Watford who I swear seem to have been winning more games
