How many players will City be linked to between now and 31 January?

Half of the rumours are Agent spin - some have a grain of truth - some actually happen.

Anyway post your rumours and comment on their merits here, and I'll try to keep count of the players linked to us:

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are exploring ways to sign Blackpool whizkid Bright Osayi-Samuel in the January transfer window having opened talks with his intermediary. However, the White Hart Lane outfit face competition for his signature, with Championship clubs Brighton & Hove Albion, Bristol City and Derby County also mulling over a bid for the teenager.

I reckon we need at least three in and ship three/four out on loan. I would be looking to get 2 strikers in, a right back a quality goalkeeper and two midfielders with better delivery. We have far too many players with no end product who make
constant mistakes, time to get rid.

Wouldn't mind Wells and think he could be a more realistic target than Rhodes as I don't think we could do the wages. I remain to be convinced by Grabban though

Until we start delivering decent supply to our striker/s it doesnt matter who we sign. I think if Messi and Ronaldo were up front they would both struggle. The problem is players like Freeman, Reid, Pack, Bryan and even Tomlin of late are not producing the quality supply to Abraham. This is why we appear to have adopted a more direct approach with Wilbraham used as a battering ram. Our problems are greater in midfield than they are up front.

Rhodes would be too high in wages.
Wells would be a good choice
I would rather go for Afobe over Grabban

I noticed about ten minutes after I typed that one out. But about as realistic as getting Rhodes I suppose

    A decent and reliable Keeper

In fact, any decent and reliable Keeper

The performance yesterday should spell the end for Fielding IMO, enough is enough.

Not for the first time, the bloke looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights yesterday.

Why wasn't the obvious goalkeeper problem sorted in the summer, because it did the rounds on this site frequently?

Bristol City monitor developing situation involving Huddersfield Town star Nahki Wells

Bristol City are understood to be monitoring the developing situation involving Huddersfield Town star Nahki Wells.

A proven goal-scorer in the Championship, the Bermudan-born forward still has 18 months left to run on his contract at the John Smith's Stadium.

But the 26-year-old striker has become unsettled, is refusing to sign a new deal and the Terriers may decide to cash in when the transfer window reopens in January rather than allowing one of their prised assets to run down his contract and eventually leave for nothing at the end of next season.

City head coach Lee Johnson is an admirer of Wells and believes he could potentially forge an effective partnership with 13-goal top-scorer Tammy Abraham.

The Robins bare in the market for at least one striker and the Post understands Huddersfield could be tempted by a bid of between £4-5m for a player who has become increasingly discontented this season.

Wells' relationship with Terriers boss David Wagner has given rise to uncertainty over his future. Huddersfield's record signing from Bradford has been asked to play up front on his own at the apex of a 4-2-3-1 system this season and has scored just four times in 20 appearances, a modest return by his own high standards.

This has led to a stand-off between player and manager which has in turn fueled speculation that Wells could be on his way out of the John Smith's Stadium sooner rather than later. His sale would generate much-needed funds to strengthen other areas of a team that is contesting a place in the end-of-season play-offs.

City have yet to adequately replace Jonathan Kodjia, the striker they sold to Championship rivals Aston Villa for £15m in the summer and majority shareholder Steve Lansdown will make funds available for Johnson and chief operating officer Mark Ashton to sign a forward in the upcoming transfer window.

Johnson is known to admire Wells, who served notice of his poaching instincts by scoring Huddersfield's winning goal in a 2-1 victory over the Robins in Yorkshire on Saturday.

Wells displayed a blistering turn of speed to seize upon an error by City keeper Frank Fielding, and it that pace that is attracting Johnson. Although Abraham has provided goals aplenty, he does not possess express pace and would very likely benefit from the presence of someone like Wells alongside him.
