We need Song/frimpong to actually play as a DM, and stay back whilst we're attacking!

Then we can have the 2 cbs spread out wider to cover the wings/space left by gibbs an sagna going forward, and song/frimpong in the middle, so while we're fully attacking we'll have 3 at the back djourou-----Song-----TV, and when we're defending 5 sagna--djourou--Song--TV--Gibbs, then our 2nd "DM" to take over the main DM role, so we end up in a 5-1-3-1 when defending

This will help stop us getting caught on the counter, and make us much harder to break down when defending in general!

Mate - you NEVER want your 2 cbs spread wide when they are defending, never ever ever. Worst piece of tactical advice I have ever seen.

That is the case if your DM does not fill in as a sort of 3rd CB. MrWright has put Song in the middle of our CB's.

The gap is filled in with Song, or if it suits better (such as Djourou in the middle with his height and strength) have song 1 side, djourou in the middle and TV the other side

Barcalona style defending, it works for them!

Nope totally wrong again ! Your DM should never be the last man and if you end up in that scenario your positioning/tactics are completely wrong. It means the attacking team have no resistance, no opposition to run down the middle if you are saying the DM is the last man in the middle. you don't cover the flanks in a counter attack, you protect the middle.

The DM should engage the player with the ball but stand up, don't dive in, try to buy time. If the ball goes out wide then one of the CBs can go toward the ball then the over CB comes across to take his place in the centre of the park NOT the DM.

Your would never want the likes of Mikel, Diarra, Denilson etc, small DMs filling in as a CB so its better to get the other CB to do the job. The DM can cover the other flank if absolutely necessary.

It could work, but you need to have players that are the best in the world at passing. And thats why it will not work for us but works for Barca. Busquets normally drops in as a 3rd CB with Puyol and Pique stretched out. They do that because its gets their full backs as high up the pitch as possible.
