Last game of the season could massive for the blues, hopefully not us. Bit spineless to jump with three games to go.

The timing sucks, but at least he had the balls to resign. Unlike someone we know....

Hmm - not sure all is exactly what it seems - do you really think that Birmingham only managed to arrange for Redknapp to take over in a couple of hours? Yeah.. right....
They TOLD Zola to resign. NOT the same as 'doing the decent thing'.

BREAKING: Steve Cotterill to work alongside Harry Redknapp
The new Birmingham City boss has just confirmed that Steve Cotterill will work alongside him for the remainder of the season.

Cotterill was sacked as Bristol City’s manager last January and was replaced by Lee Johnson.

Redknapp has just confirmed on TalkSport regarding Cotterill.

“He’s a fantastic manager - I can’t believe he’s been out the game so long,” said Redknapp.

It means Steve Cotterill will return to Ashton Gate on the final day of the season when Birmingham play the Robins.

Now wouldn't this be ironic if we need to beat Birmingham on the last day to stay up............

Must admit, the thought of this had already crossed my mind before this news. 54 points will guarantee safety as things currently stand which we can do by winning 2 of our 3 games. Assuming we don't get anything at Brighton, who have won 17 of their 22 games, and we have only won 3 away, it makes this Saturday vital that we pick up something- This season still has got a long way to go I feel-

I agree - losing to Barnsley, followed most likely by a loss to Brighton, coupled with results elsewhere could result in real squeaky bum time. I do think just a single win from the last three will probably be enough, but you wouldn't want to go into the last game of the season needing the points. It's a shame we couldn't get the win against Blackburn we probably ought to have gotten, which would have almost certainly sealed it.

safe points at the moment is 53 then goal difference which is -8 ( Blackburn 44 plus possible 9 pts = 53 GD -15 City gd -7 ) it means our options are win 2 or win 1 draw 2..... Should Blackburn lose 1 of their 3 games then a win or 2 draws (GD DECIDES)is enough
A WIN OR DRAW can see off Wigan

Harry and Steve at the gate wonder what reception they will get.

I think we will be safe after Barnsley game.

Wolves will beat Blackburn, and we will beat Barnsley job done.

Steady on there RR - you'll be be seen to be optimistic with that sort of comment!

Must say Forest surprised me yesterday. They were far better than they've been recently and could have won the game - in fact some of us thought they should have. Looked like end of season "comfort zone" stuff from us mind, and on the day, even you might have had a chance.........<laugh>

Seriously though guys, you look to be in the box seat after your two recent home wins and that point at Blackburn - it has to be said from the table that only you can lose it now.

Don't underestimate Barnsley though. Unfashionable they may be, but they're a far better side than the last three you've played. Hopefully it'll be another home win for you and you wont need results from your last couple of games.

Forest have a tough game against Reading next but at least they are home. If they get anything from that, their last two games against QPR and Ipswich are definitely winnable.

Blackburn have it all to do to get off the trap door and their best chance is probably that last game of yours with Brum.

My mojo has returned Sparkey, still want LJ gone though, this squad should have been fighting for a play off spot, not a relegation battle.

I hope RR is right because the last thing I want is to see our survival resting with the Birmingham game with SC on the bench directing the opposition traffic. That would not be anything other than a squeaky rear end time.
