Apparently we have had him watched as a possible replacement for Friedel. http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/footba...g-up-zeljko-brkic-as-brad-friedel-replacement I know its Metro but at least its not about LM. Has anyone seen him play?
Zeljko Brkic ----- Bless you 'Fraid not but I'm sure we'll be looking at a number of 'keepers over the coming season, unless he's particularly cheap then there's no rush
Gomes has to be sold now that he is 3rd choice (and rightly so with all his blunders), so a new keeper to ultimately be no.1 has to be one of our priorities in January.
Hope that wasn't aimed at me Chirpy-I waited so long I went to bed- now I'm up and waiting for the responses to flood in....oh they have I see
The issue is what to look for in a new keeper. On one hand there's players like Brkic who are young and can grow into being the first choice keeper, but on the other hand we need someone who can slot in as #1 at some point in the near future. Either way, that isn't Alnwick...
That's an odd deal, mainly for the way Udinese's squad looks at the moment - Brkic is on loan at Siena (and they have three other keepers loaned out around Italy), plus their two keepers and one they loaned in as cover from Sampdoria. In fact, they have a whopping 31 players loaned out this season.
