In the last game Emre and Zakora played against each other, Emre racially abused Zakora.
Think he got his own back tho <laugh>

Amazing. In what way did he racially abuse him? I'm surprised to hear about racism in the Turkish league to be honest, it doesn't seem to be much of a problem over there.

Dear, oh dear. No danger of football becoming a non-contact sport with challenges going on like that. ;)

    From Yahoo:

"Emre and I came face to face during the match," Zokora said afterwards. "I'll tell you what he said word for word. He called me: 'A dirty n*****'."

That was assault. Zokora even looked like he was expecting a red. God knows how he got away with that.

If that's assault then every foul is.

Probably should have been red, though it wasn't a studs-up tackle so perhaps that's what saved him.

    Great aim though.

What a way to get booked. That's worth the same punishment as kicking the ball away! Good lad, Didier!

Well I've done some reading into racism in Turkish football, and it seems that this really is a rare case. Discrimination based on skin colour is basically non-existent in Turkey. However, there does tend to be discrimination against certain people with whom the Turks have conflicted with in the past, such as Israelis, Armenians and Kurds. The Zokora case is a strange one though, as skin colour is probably less of an issue in Turkey than it is here.

That yellow card is the sort of thing which brings referees into disrepute. What do you have to do to get a Red from that joker?
