Puyol expectdd to miss both ties, with djorou, Song and possibly nasri to be back. ( i expect nasri to be on bench, and come on with around 20 mins left if the tie is going all wrong.

 

Bendtner should start on the left. He's a goal threat, he has good work rate, he will track back, he can cut in, and Barca didn't like playing against him in either leg last season.

 

This is true, in thoery.

But in thoery Rooney should also play well on the left too and we know how that one ends up every time.

I've only ever seen him in one game on the left, against ipswich. Not a great match to create an opinion on a premiership player tbh.

 

yh, i read an article on 606 saying Bendtner was a major threat due to Barca's weakness to defend the long balls up field or in corners etc.. Thats why id play Chamakh or Bendtner, But id very very surprised if Venger picked him.

 

Bendtner played most of 08/09 on the left or as a striker who drifted out to the left and it was his best season for us. I've never rated him on the right but he scores some great goals when he cut inside. His goal against Blackburn last season was brilliant.

The arial aspect is a good point tbh, but can you see arsene abandoning his 'pretty football' tactics?

 

I actually think he will be forced into playing him. Nasri is out, Rosicky is a liability at he moment, Arshavin is finding some form at the moment and could play but I think he will be a disaster in a game like this because he gives the ball away too much and everybody knows how hard it is to get it back when Barca have the ball. There is also the option of playing Diaby there but I don't think it will work and if it doesn't pay off the fans will be livid because Diaby is not currently in the good books for obvious reasons.
