Behave. He was distinctly average until the turn of the year. A couple of decent months and taking penalties doesn't make a good season.
The fact no one else but scouse have chosen him says it all.

 

I'm not saying he deserves to be in the best 11 but he is having a good season.

He has 9 assists and 7 goals including some pretty important ones too. That is good a good return.

Edit: just checked and he's joint top of the assists table - not bad for someone whi sits in front of the back 4, and as you said, started the season slowly.

 

His job in your team is to retrieve the ball and ping it forward to two of the hottest strikers in the league at the moment, getting assists is easy for him considering how good his passing range is too. Liverpool are brilliant at scoring but there's a few reasons you have conceded the most out of the 'big 7' sides and one of those reasons is that Gerrard is not the type of player who protects the back four.

Also 6 of his 8 goals are from penalties I believe.

Not saying by any means he's had a bad season btw, just don't think he's been the best CM.
