I always use the lower case on purpose except on the rare occasion I'm not trying to offend people. Upper casing it suggests it is a name and there is an agreed upon single deity that goes by the name god.

  11. It's good that you have that happy memory to look back on for comfort, mate.

  12. For me, it has to be Greaves' hat-trick against Bolton Wanderers. He was at Spurs but playing for Chelsea at the time, and it was the best game I ever saw, even though I wasn't even born yet.

    Great memories.

Last game of the season 1994, at home to Wimbledon

We needed to win to stay up. Within 20 mins we're 0-2 down and looking buried. Wimbledon had never in their history lost a game in which they had a 2-0 lead.

We get a penalty and Anders Limpar duly obliges 1-2. Then Barry Horne scores the goal of his career a 30 yard rocket to level and then there's the much discussed Hans Segers **** up that allowed Graham Stuart's fairly weak shot to squirm under him for the winner.

A day of so many highs and lows it was indescribable, grown men crying all over the shop at the end. A day like no other.

You always have the DVD of the 4-4 draw you got at the emirates to watch again and again of course.

The best I've been to - 1993, home to Bolton, 3-0 down with 20 minutes to go, and win 4-3

Slightly before my time attending, 1980, losing 4-0 in the first leg of the League Cup against Southampton. 2nd leg make it 5-1 to take it to extra time, and win 7-1

And of course... the play-off semi final a few years back against Leicester - they miss a penalty that would have got them to the final, Almunia saves, we go down the other end and Deeney scores (the less said about the final the better)

    1. 4-3 against Newcastle (the first one).

Amazing game and the roar when Stan got the winner - indescribable!

Still probably the best game in the Premier League era and with my man Robbie banging them in too <ok>

    2. Obviously Champions League Final and of course FA Cup in 2006.

We just didn't look like losing finals around that period.

    3. FA Cup final against Arsenal when Owen stole the cup was great.

    4. Beating City 3-2 after being 2 up, they drew level and then Couts turned and banged one in!

Amazing - thought that would get us the league too but it wasn't to be!

    5. The best week as a Liverpool fan for me is when we stuffed United 4-1 at Old Trafford and stuffed Real Madrid 4-0 in the space of a few days!

Doesn't get much better than that.

That play off semi final moment was incredible. Love the video of Cottee (I think?) Reporting on it on sky.
