Lots of complaints that the calssic GP's on the beeb are all the same now and I would agree. Do we need to see Brazil 08, Japan 89 again and again and again.

So chaps, what would your 5 classic races be and why?

    My list would be :-

1989 Portugese GP - Berger's first win in 1989, but the talking point was Mansell's clash with Senna. Did Mansell see the black flag after he reversed in the Pit Lane? Also look for his exceptional block pass on Berger earlier in the race.

1982 Monaco GP - Think its been shown before, but a chaotic race with the winner literally decided on the last lap. Always a good watch.

1988 British GP - A great win in the rain from Senna. Prost retired a perfectly healthy car. Mansell charging through the field in his Williams-Judd to a fine 2nd place. All of this watched by a 9 year old me, stood in the cold and rain at Becketts!

2003 British GP - One of the finest drives you will see - by Rubens Barrichello. safety cars, religious nutters and some inspired drives to the front from Rubens. How to win a GP with real satisfaction.

1986 Australian GP. Many leaders came and went but ultimately Prost held his nerve and looked after his tyres the best to take his 2nd consecutive WDC. Right to the end Mansell, then Piquet had the title, but 'The Prof' got it.

I'm unashamably young so my picks don't extend beyond 2006. I've watched older races but struggle to get into them when I already know what happened.

    2006 Hungarian Grand Prix
    2011 Chinese Grand Prix
    2010 Canadian Grand Prix
    2008 Japanese Grand Prix
    2011 Canadian Grand Prix

I am however ashamed all my favourite races were won by current McLaren drivers. Am I that partisan!? Or were these races just the most epic since 2005??

Is easy to have your jusgement clouded by who you support!

I nearly had 5 races where Nigel Mansell was at the centre of the action for each one!

The one where mansell took to cars at same time at spa, and the one when he was going wheel to wheel with piquet? and you could see the air flows off their rear spoliers!

Would've been an even better race if Jonathan Legard had driven in it.
