have a read of this article by gary neville, its a good article but people outside of stoke city will never understand what we are going through!! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...avid-Moyes-Tony-Pulis-bring-Gary-Neville.html
It doesn't mention the broken promises or the mismanagement of players or the disdain that fans are treated with by Pulis, we didn't put a timetable on improvements he did, Pulis out!!!
What outsiders fail to understand is that we have the players and capability to be so much better. All they see is our league position, premiership security and the players we have in our squad. What they do not see is the other side of the coin, the ****e football, the cowardly tactics, the vindictiveness towards quality players, the lack of ideas, the favouritism of poor players over better quality ones, the square pegs in round holes and a manager that really does not have a clue on how to win a game of football. Here's to Pulis drinking Champagne soon
It's quite laughable really Jowler because when we do win at home away fans come on here saying how do we watch that ****e week in and week out. When we complain it's we are deluded and should be thankful that we have TP and premier league security!
Exactly Stokielad, I want him out cus he's sh*t, cus he doesn't give a sh*t about the club the fans or the players, he must think he's a modern day Clough. he's a modern day something but it's not a Clough.
All I can say is welcome to midtable, a place where pundits learn 2 or 3 talking points about your team and never bother to look deeper. You're unlikely to see a Fulham article without one of these "accepted" points: 1) Fulham are poor away from home; 2) Fulham rely on Berbatov to win games; and 3) Fulham sold Dempsey & Dembele in the summer. These of course ignore the fact that our 15 away points is ninth in the league, we have been top 10 in consecutive years without Berbatov and we sold those players nearly 7 months ago. Similarly, the point that "Pulis has down really well at Stoke with little resources" trumps any actual facts in the eyes of pundits and the media. That's unlikely to change any time soon.
The pundits also seem to forget that the little resources come to the tune of 100 million on tat players and players that do not even make the first team like 8 million pound Palacios!!
I think this applies to a few other teams too, and we are the outsiders that don't see it in their cases. There are some compelling arguments that the Premier League is killing football, unless you are at the top, or the bottom with something to really fight for, all people will see is an alright position, safety, and some good players, and not really notice that we're floundering around in mid table, never really doing anything because to push on requires taking more risks, which obviously if they don't work out, means a lower position, less money, possible relegation, and why would teams want to do that when they can just plug away in the same fashion that Sunderland, Fulham and ourselves do, and maintain our status in "the best league in the world"?
