The dream

Let us not wallow in the valley of despair. I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the football prediction dream.

I have a dream that one day I will rise up and live out the true meaning of football score prediction creed – I hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal in football prediction.

I have a dream that one day on the terraces of St James’ Park the sons of former fans and the sons of former club owners will be able to sit down together at a table of prediction league brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Wear, a desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice where predictions will be made.

I have a dream that my three little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the quality of their match predictions but by the content of their character.

I have a dream that one day, down in Gosforth, with its vicious rugby fans, with its rugby players having their lips dripping with the words of tries and scrums; one day right there on the Tyne bridge little football boys and little football girls will be able to join hands with little rugby boys and little rugby girls as sisters and brothers in a football world cup prediction competition.

I have a dream that one day every football predictor shall be exalted, every non football predictor shall be made low, and the glory of the Prediction shall be revealed, and all predictors shall see it together. This is my hope. This is the faith that I will go back to St James’ Park with. With this faith I will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.

With this faith I will be able to transform the jangling discords of our prediction league into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day to predict on any football match.

This will be the day, this will be the day when all football fans will be able to sing with a new meaning: "My country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every mountainside, let football match predictions ring." And if England is to be a great nation, this must become true.

And when this happens, when we allow the freedom to predict football matches, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing "let football predictions begin"

I'll see about the league format lads. I don't mind doing it at all, but I'm hoping to move to Canada before the end of the season (as soon as poss to be honest), so being 6 hours behind and having the most beautiful girl in the world beside me in bed might be a little bit distracting

My theory is I have bet on the Argies to win the tournament (along with a double on Aguero top scorer who will get 9 tonight if they do win). This way if I bomb out I've still tortured you all the way to the semi final, have lost to a fine chap in Doc, and have hope (if only small now Germany have shown they are ridiculously good) of still winning some money. If I win I can do a Trev type speech all centred around you rather than Doc, and basically act a bit of a knob (again), while basking in the glory of leading my team out in the final (kind of).

Its a win win for me tonight!

Have you seen Dream Team by the way? You lead me by 1 measily point. You have Messi, Muller, Robben and Rojo left in the competition. However Gustavo Pooyet has Messi, Muller, Rojo, Robben, Snejider, De Vrij, Hummels, RVP left in the competition. Could you be about to be gazumped at the final two hurdles?? Imagine if I win our Dream Team league and your prediction tournament. Can we do an online interview of me asking you how you feel about it? What next? Etc etc.
