Just back in the country after holiday. Delighted to learn of OUR victory today. Well done the R's and a very Happy New Year celebration to be enjoyed by all tonight.
So good to read through the whole thread and go from doom and gloom to breaking out the beers to celebrate....
Much higher tempo today with a lot more pressing than of late Hopefully this has instilled some belief in the team and we can get a result on Monday too. We owe Ipswich after the luck they got in the match at theirs
Makes a pleasant change to be breaking out the beers in celebration rather than drowning our sorrows.
So we actually won a match ? We actually scored two goals? Good heavens! Seriously, these three poins are so much needed. As so many other fans im very scare of relegation. This win gives a moment of breathing time but there is still so much to do. Anyway happy new year to all QPR supporters all over the world. At least the year ended fine.
Team for ipswich????? Unchanged except for Ned replacing Sandro. Hall then becomes the defensive CM. Or will some players be rested...
I'm sure you're right about Onouha returning but he won't do so on merit. Pure coincidence that our first win in yonks came with him suspended? We should install Mackie as captain in any event.
On the radio they said that Sandro had bossed the midfield (at least for some of the game). However, watching him chase back was painful. Legs def gone so has to rely on position sense and wit to be effective. Agree with Mackie for Captain. He cares and will let that be known to the other players.
Does anyone believe Sandro's official age? Shodipo will surely get a game in this one. Borysiuk for Sandro without a doubt. Probably one or two others who will struggle.
Not written by Clive this time but here's the LFW match report ... QPR end year on a high with Wolves win - Report Sunday, 1st Jan 2017 13:22 by Lee McAlpine QPR snapped a six match losing run with a hard-fought, last gasp 2-1 win at Wolves on New Year's Eve. Lee McAlpine was there for LFW. “Don't suppose you're going to Wolves mate? Need a report from somewhere” Well, we were thinking about it, but defeat number six (yet another in front of the Sky cameras) was hardly the inspiring “gee up” needed to visit one of the most unwelcoming football grounds on New Year’s Eve. But Northern’s email tipped me over the edge and plans were hastily made. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/news/44639/
Sandro started really well but then just seemed to disappear! Manning looks a great prospect, and as another poster said, Mackie was great tracking back, fantastic block in injury time. First half was dull. Second half we took the lead slightly against the run of play, which of course sparked Wolves to life. Their equaliser was annoying because it stemmed from the third break in two mins down the right wing. Bidwell who had a good first half just didn't seem to get a grip on their guy. After that Wolves were pushing for a winner but we weren't massively uncomfortable. Then again Wolves aren't that good. Our winner seemed like a bit of a scramble but who cares!! Great away support in a silent Molyneux.....Happy New Year!!!
Regardless of how well he plays he can and will never be able to sustain it beyond about 50 minutes. He's just a last resort now and it will hopefully stay that way unless someone is stupid enough to take him in Jan.
