Don't think we should be smashing our transfer record for a striker who's scored 9 and 10 goals in the last two seasons if the priority is a striker to score goals next year. Rather go for a proven EPL striker who's done the business before (Rooney/Deeney/Defoe - in that order)
Agree with G4rd. It would probably be like the Luque situation all over again. Why gamble? Would rather keep what we have if we're not going to sign players with EPL experience.
I wouldn't be put off by his record. I have watched a bit of him this season and he is a talent. Whether the North East of England is right for him is an entirely different matter. These Brazilian lads are tough as they come however.
More importantly, is he any good on FIFA 17 and does he have a YouTube video? Bony sounds like a reasonable shout although is a risk.
" The " The North East of England "....that's in Sunderland if I'm not mistaken, prior to 1970 it was known as Fredorallum which of course was it's Roman name.
Bony would be fantastic. Any one of those players who excel at mid/lower-table clubs but struggle at the top would be awesome additions, like Gylfi, Delph, etc. And although it's hackneyed, PL experience seems to be worth its weight in gold. That said, I have this horrid feeling we'll spunk an awful lot on Sturridge and maybe also Wilshere. They fit the Mike profile - young, valuable and a gamble.
I don't know about Bony. There has to be a reason he can't even get in Stokes squad despite being fit?
