Claudio Ranieri sacked by Leicester due to poor results and after last season must come as a shock. It must lead us to questions as to why Lee is still working , but nonetheless it makes me wonder about any follow on situations that could occur. If we continue on our current path and Lee is fired do you think there are any real candidates to fill his boots that may also be offered the same position at Leicester? According to BBC Roberto Mancini is the leading candidate along with the usual suspects including Alan Pardew, Nigel Pearson and Gary Rowett. Who do you think will succeed Ranieri and are any of the others considered to be right for Bristol City, given our current situation? Come to that would you consider Ranieri for Ashton Gate realising that it almost certainly won't be an option for us, but for the rest of the season because I'm sure he has something to prove?
I'm struggling to understand why Leicester sacking their manager will have anything to do with us? Unless they want LJ then they can have him.
Nigel Pearson is wanted by the players at Leicester and he could be on board in a few days, so that mean Claudio is also available now and wants to get back in the saddle soon. Would SL ever be that positive to get him on a rest of the season contract, whatever that could mean? Dream on Mike!
They would never had won it had he been in charge.....not a chance in hell.. They were fighting relegation when he was sacked......
Did any of us ever believe Leicester would win the prem. Magical as it was,we would never now. NIGEL Pearson it seems is going back,so it seems they still rate him highly.
Pearson is the bookies favourite and fans like him. It's a bit like us getting rid of LJ and having Cotterell back.
The funny thing is Leicester are where they should expect to be....I admired what they achieved last season under Ranieri. Towards the last third of the season I was willing them to actually win it. It was without doubt, under his influence and the way he managed them to gel together, the right chemistry brought them that success. For the owners to sack him now, after everything he did is an absolute joke, especially being still in the champions league...... I think Ranieri and his Leicester side touched many fans with that amazing achievement.......but I feel now, no, one cares what happens to them, apart from their fans! I would feel sorry for the fans but I will have a secret chuckle if they reappoint Pearson and they go down.....They are more or less where they are, when he was sacked minus champions league run, oh yes and minus premier league title!!
listened to similar comments Sunday by IR etc ... the failure to secure a couple of top replacements for those that desserted the ship has shown an in aptitude by either the owners or the management ..With Raneiri in charge they would have survived ..maybe the owners didn't want that instead a brief return the champs pocket shi* loads of dosh and hopefully return in 18/19 season for more dosh ......
