My heart says yes. But my head says Ashley may **** him over. Hopefully Rafa will dig in and be tough with Mike. I hope so.
I picked up in his post match interview when he said "I need to analyse things" made me think maybe he has better offers... I waited to watch it to see what he said and I was not filled with much confidence. Can't knock him if he leaves for a bigger club mind and I'm sure we will be forever grateful but i have my doubts...... Arsenal or West Ham maybe.
The same interview prompted this post mate. Hopefully his comment was his usual 'sit on the fence' stance he seems to take with Ashley.
I hope so. He's not stupid and he's a class man and manager and I just hope Ashley gives him the credit he deserves...... but we have a massive job again to as fans tell him we love him and that we want him to stay...........
I hope his emotional bond with the fans counts for somethIng. It did last year lads. Who would have thought he would be our manager.
He stayed this season because of the emotional bond with the fans, so I don't believe he would depart for more money in his pockets, but I do believe he would depart for not enough money coming out of Ashley's pockets.
I agree here. Rafa feeds off the love from the fans. This is more important to him than money. He was offered £2m more to go to China but said no due to his principles.
Ashley will have to give him a fighting chance of competing to get into the top half. That will need three decent players. Can't see Rafa going to Arsenal. He'll know their fans would kick off if he replaced Wenger, and just give him grief. Rafa likes love, so I see him wanting to stay here.
I think if it was based on club and fans he'd stay without hesitation. But Rafa is a strong character and he'll want plenty of reassurances from owner before committing. Is he out of contract or have another year or so left?
