Gareth Bale joins Real Madrid from Spurs in £85m world record deal http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23538218
it will be interesting to see how well Spurs cope without Bale even though they have strengthened, Bale was worth about 15 points alone last year, Crazy fee though... and 300k pw!!.... just crazy Good on him i hope he does well there.
Watched his unveiling and he looks very much at home in Spain. Will Bale stay? Well maybe he'll be back as a coach here one day and I think he'd make a damned good one. I haven't followed the fortunes of a single player who's left us so good luck Gareth and thank you. Goodbye.
Firstly...£85m is unbelievable...we'd have been insane to turn it down imo. Last season the team was built around him and his speed...no Bale or Lennon and we really struggled...and up til late November he hardly set the world alight ... I ain't knocking him by the way. He is a fantastic player to watch but we need a team that is not dependant on just one player as we were for much of last season. Secondly ... I have no problem with him going but he has undone some of reputation by acting like a twat last week...he has the right to want to go and we have the right to get our terms met and he should have shown a bit of respect for us. Finally he looked like a a real mug snogging the madrid badge today! But all in all I hope he does well but I don't support players...I support spurs so I won't be following his progress
I am going to make a prediction, good luck to bale, but he will not prove a success at all, hope I am wrong, I just have that gut feeling
There was rumours Levy wanted a clause put in that meant if Madrid sold Bale within 4 years to another PL club, then they would have to pay us another £10m.
I do wish him well,of course, but being one of the "old stagers" so to speak,my mind goes back to the days.what was it? 12 quid a week,10 quid in the summer,2 quid for a win and a pound for a draw! Ye Gods.Ther stars of yesterday will be turning in their graves. Bobby Smith, supposedly, was a bit short during the week because he liked to gamble. If he had some of Bale's money as a player today,I think he would be jetting to Las Vegas every week to try his luck...... I wonder what my old favourite,Tom Finney, would be earning today.I don't think he'd be messing with plumbing! ....and Messi's predecessor,Jimmy Greaves? My Lord, what would he be worth today........?
Dear Gareth Judas Bale You are a crybaby much like Sol Campbell, Michael Carrick, Dimitar Berbatov and Luka Modric. Like the above you have chosen to commit career suicide and sit on the bench while others do all the hard work. You would have walked out on Tottenham for free if you had the chance. In addition you kissed the Real Madrid badge while the media spouted the boyhood dream bollocks that was used for Robbie Keane to Liverpool So Spurs fans wishing you the best need to smarten up
