If Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions league next season, will media reports of their top players moving to bigger clubs to secure CL football materialise?

Bale is probably one of the hottest prospects at the moment. Lots of top European clubs are interested and Spurs may find it difficult to resist a big money offer in the summer.

Modric is a long term target for Man Utd who are looking to replace Scholes, again they think nothing of spending £20m+ to get their man and may well lure the him to Old Trafford.

VDV has made no disguise of his desire to return to Germany to play in the Bundasliga. He almost went there, before Redknapp stole him at the last minute. What with Shalke doing so well in the CL this season, he may end up with them or Bayern Munich.

The potential income from selling these players would give Spurs an enviable kitty to buy new players. Bale could command anything up to around £35m, Modric £25m and VDV around £18m - giving Spurs somewhere around £70m - £80m to play with.

Who would Spurs fans like to see come in to replace these players?

Modric and Bale have signed new contracts and repeatedly said they do not wish to leave

I'll take their word over that of idiotic media hacks

With the prospect of no Champions League football, Harry Redknapp has threatened to resign if any of his top players are sold. A noble, if somewhat misguided intention, can Harry really hang onto the likes of Bale, Modric and VDV if Spurs can't offer them football at the highest level, which they would easily be able to command at one of the top clubs?

Spurs looked like they were on the cusp of big things when they qualified for the CL last season, but this time around has brought them back down to a level that they are used to and next season may prove not to be good enough for players who will want to play at the top level.
