anyone else now thinking it might be a good time to get knocked out the CL? We can't afford to keep dropping points before/after the European games. We've had a blimmin' good crack at the CL and done ourselves proud, but realistically we're not going to win it. So we need to get 4th. City's 5-0 win on sunday was a kick in the balls.
there are probably about 30million reasons to qualify for it regardless of whether you win it or not. The FA cup would be dead boring if only the teams that had the ambition to win it entered it. After all only 5 teams have won it in the last 15 years. My question is, would getting knocked out now help us get 4th? If so, i think it wouldn't be such a bad thing in the long run.
As the Spurfectionist said - that may have been the opinion years ago when football was a sport - sadly nowadays it is a business and we have shareholders to please and chairman's holidays to fund! Just qualifying for the cl last season has put the balance sheet in the black - that can't be ignored.
