2-3 to the champions. Good win but there was a little bit of tactical inexperience at the end there withe the subs that was picked up by Radio Leicester - but hay ho, 4 wins on the trot, with 11 goals scored.
Amazing save from Carroll at the end by Schmeichel. Easily our player of the season What a win and what a turnaround from Shakey
We could actually achieve my wish at the beginning of the season - a good Champion League run and 10th place...
I know if's and but's are just if's but it's damn frustrating that we've just started to play this well again. If we'd not been chopping and changing earlier in the season, just doing what we know works, top ten would've been a certainty. Never was the saying "if it ain't broke..." more true!
Take away the 9 points from the last three games and we would have been in dire straights. Lets hope this resurgence continues as we are long way from being safe yet. Having said that a great three points today with equal shares of character, skill and luck getting us home.
Massive 3 points that's for sure. 2 home games to come too. Looking a lot better for us now though still not out of the woods yet.
Schmeichel wont be here at the start of next season, not a chance imo. If De Geas off to Madrid, then no-ones a better fit for Man U. It seems the league has tightened up a bit around lower mid table with Watford, WHU and Burnley all in seemingly bad runs of form, could go a couple more spaces up if we can pickup points from the next couple of games.
Not sure about De Gea ... rumours starting to circulate that Real have put Kaspar as one of their top targets ... £50m plaese and he can go with our blessing (because we wouldn't realistically be able to keep him) ... then we get Pickford for £10-15m European Paper Talk: Kasper Schmeichel a surprise target for Real Madrid By Thomas McIlroy, Football Whispers Last Updated: 20/03/17 10:23am please log in to view this image <img class="widge-figure__image auto-size__target" src="http://e1.365dm.com/17/03/16-9/20/s...ster-city-football_3911798.jpg?20170317230602" alt="" itemprop="image"> As the season nears its climax across Europe, it's becoming clearer who will need to strengthen in the summer. If Kasper leaves then we need a really good keeper to replace him - Pickford has potential but that is all really. Problem is that there aren't that many around that would be willing to come to us...
Firstly potential is a huge thing ... Secondly ... what makes you think players wouldn't want to come to us? ... we are prepared to pay £100k a week contracts ... that makes us incredibly attractive to a mass of players ...
We have all thought Kasper would leave numerous times but he hasnt. He is on big money here on a long term contract. Kasper has said he wont leave to sit on anyones bench I think the Man U move is the only one that would interest him as he supports them due to his dads links and he grew up at the time
Personally, I can't see him turning down Real or Barca should they come calling ... nor do I think we would stand in his way if that were the case ... has now proved himself the best keeper we have had since Shilton and Banks ... exalted company indeed.
Kasper would turn United down IMO. He's always hated comparisons to his Dad. There's no chance he turns down one of the World's best though (Real, Barca etc).
Its no secret that hes a Man U fan though, and he gets comparisons no matter where he is. He won't turn down a move to them, though i think with his upward trajectory, he won't go there to play behind De Gea either.
