Some people just come on here and resort to insults and name calling Mexican. You however are clearly very well educated and capable of meaningful and well considered argument which is demonstrated by your incredibly eloquent text above.

Do they have 'big school' in Cancun? If so, when do you go up?

Jeez lads, if i thought this thread was gonna start world war 3 i wouldn't have posted it, but i'd like to add that probably Ipswich' attendances are down because at the moment they are in a bit of a slump, i'm sure norwich would be the same if they weren't having a bit of success, will those fans keep going when things go wrong next season
I'm sure Ipswich will make it back to the promised land and be a major force again, somehow i don't think norwich will be a force in the prem next season, or in the future.
And to ge back to the crux of my thread norwich will have to win a lot of trophies to be as big as their biggest rivals

I reckon Norwich have a bigger fanbase than Ipswich so are a bigger club.

Ipswich definitely have a better history though, Norwich have bugger all to be proud of.

Loiner note the fact that we have a bigger stadium and going back over 40 years have had on average the higher attendances. Yes we are in the doldrums at the present time but still managed to get over 19,000 on average last season! We are the PRIDE OF ANGLIA!

Monsieur Grapevine tells me you have some pretty awful ticket prices as well. As opposed to Norwich who practically pay their fans to go to Carrow.

That's true Loiner but you have to take into account that farm wages are low in Norfolk and the Poles, Romanians, Albanians, Lithuanians, Slovaks and Portuguese don't understand english let alone Narfolk! <ok>

I heard they had to call off the family stand season ticket discount because they were flabbergasted by 20,000 applicants - all claiming to be from the same family.

OK I'm closing this thread. Shame some of you aren't intelligent enough to muster a bit of witty intelligent cross border banter.

    This is just great!

"Biggest" "Best"..... both quite emotive tags and hard to have a fact based debate around either, because emotion, pride, slavish loyalty and partisan views will always bubble up. We can all make our own definitions about what is meant by 'biggest' and 'best'. Of course we slant these views to suit our own arguments! So here is mine..........

For me it's quite straightforward. For "biggest"; based on history, ground, facilities, legends, managers, trophies, memories, global recognition (by those of a certain age of course ) its is ITFC by a huge margin. NCFC really don't have the rich history of ITFC and probably never will. For 'best' right now, if you talk about current achievements and which club plays the better football it has to be NCFC by dint of the drubbing they gave us last season and the fact that they have enjoyed back to back promotions. They are a Premiership side and we are a Championship side. At least for next season! They are currently the 'best' side but that does not make them the best club. That tag is clearly also ITFC's and always will be!!!

This is a debate that will last for decades and will always be fun to join or just sit and watch.

    Back to the original question...
Biggest fan base - 1-0 Norwich
Original member of the Prem League 1-1
Number of league titles won - 2-1 Ipswich
Number of European Trophies won - 3-1 ipswich
Number of FA cups won - 4-1 Ipswich
Longest time spent in the top flight - 5-1 Ipswich
    Current League position - 5- 2 Ipswich
Number of managers represented their country - 6-2 Ipswich
    International players - 7-2 Ipswich
    Biggest stadium - 7-3 Ipswich

I think that is unanimous - Please feel free to amend as necessary!!

I think the biggest give away to which team is biggest, is in the mentallity of Budgies being able to have a 50th celebration for only reaching a semi-final. Thats the give away for being a bunch of losers, whereas the mighty ITFC fans only throw a celebration for winning things. i.e. we have a winners attitude. For christ sake, If we celebrated every semi-final we got to we would be like Delia at a cooking sherry convention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (permently pissed)

So i take it that all Budgie fans would want to swap their history for ours of glory and many wonderful trophies winning celebrations!

regarding next season, i can't wait to see the budgies crying in march when they relegated with a record low points which will point to them being A: Lucky & B: A bunch of ****ing cheats, and hopefully the biggest fat ****er of them all will get done by a tackle like he has committed all season.
