I think we've had it with both Danns and Greening, at least until the summer. Danns is out of contract in the summer and can leave on a free, there's no benefit in Palace letting him out on loan, as they'd get nothing when he moved permanently. Also Fulham have blown us out on the Greening one, Hughes says he's still in his plans and he's going nowhere.
I heard Deano on Sportstalk last night, and he reckoned he'd spoken to Greening and he fancied the loan move, but Fulham wouldn't let him go at the moment.
Can't fault your logic on the Danns situ there OL. But it could also play out in our favour if we take over his salary as no one else would be able to sign him on a permanent untill the summer anyway.
Don't think it's Hobbs. As I stated many times I live in Leicester, all the talk is of him going to Celtic. Never even heard us mentioned once in conjunction (is that the right word?) to him. When is Kightly ever fit? He's more injured than Folan!
True, but as he's a regular in their starting XI, has played 24 games this season, scored six goals and provided 2 assists, I think they'll hang on to him as long as they can.
Sounds like he's out of contract in the summer so wouldn't be a bad deal for either him or Wolves. I think I remember AP saying that (especially with the more recent loanees) that we've only been bringing in players which we are in with a decent shout of signing in the future, he he sure fits the bill. I think Wolves have one too many wingers to be honest. He's only just turned 25 too, which fits the age policy too. Proven at Championship level for his age. Would solve our centre midfield and left sided shortage problems by added extra cover to the wings and allowing Koren to more inside more often. Personally i think we'll also be in for Hobbs, but maybe not till the summer. Probably in Pearson's mind if we can't get Gerrard on a permanent.
I've seen that Hobbs to Celtic rumour(which apparently came from Stringer), but as far as I know players can't move from English clubs to Scottish ones in the emergency loan window.
Sure, that's what i'd do, but could it be some kind of deal involving Jay Simpson going the other way. Don't even know if that's legal. Palace fans seem to think there's summat in it!
I think the media got the wrong end of the stick with that one. I dont think there was ever an offer involving Simpson.
I think we just offered to switch Gardner with Danns, so they got a loan player onto their books to free up another loan place, but they weren't interested.
Word on Hobbs is he was going to Celtic, but can't now as deal wasn't finalized in the window and Scotland doesn't count as domestic loan. So we may get him, although like I said before I've not heard him linked to us once at this end.
