Thanks KC. It makes sense now. Haven't had a white Christmas in NZ but did get some snow when I was on top of a local hill one New Year's Eve day.
One of my colleagues is a Leeds fan and he thinks that Monk is more likely to go to Palace or us than any of the relegated sides on the basis that if he's going to stay in the Championship, there aren't any bigger sides than Leeds. I then asked if they were getting parachute payments - that shut him up.
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/15310386.Silva_s_Tigers__departure_confirmed/ We could be about to find out very soon. One way or the other...
With the rumours of what we offer in terms of renumination expect these talks to stall and he will pop up at Southampton some time shortly.
Our pay rates are one of the lowest in the EPL so unless we are the only one talking with him then its a waste of time . Plus we need this sorted in days not weeks , so he can prepare better than the clubs coming up .We can only expect him to improve the team in the 2ond year as he will not know them and it take time .
Guess if he comes to us its win win for him - does well and his reputation grows or gets dumped with everyone just going "typical Pozzos" Our chairman seemed to put a bit of pressure on the new man by saying we just don't want to be "staying up by the skin of our teeth" The Pozzos have ambition of course but we have to be a bit realistic...
The Evening Standard have a piece about him and Palace. Plus side for us is our training facilities etc as I have heard rumours Big Sam was not impressed with a lot of things behind the scenes when he took over there.
Well Selhurst Park was one of the few grounds that looked like a dump even compared to ours when the East stand was still as it was!
The more I think about it the more convinced I become that Leonid Slutsky will get the job - he is likely to be the cheapest. Another point in his favour is that he has managed the Russian national team - and I think that national team management has many similarities to the Watford job ie. you cannot 'get people in', and have to find a system for the players you have available. The other name that springs to mind is Marc Wilmotts, who I would welcome at the club.
I mentioned Marc Wilmotts last week as he was with Pozzo at a game earlier in season when rumours of Mazza was going to get the chop were doing the rounds in January
You start off so well and you go and spoil it i took LS at 4/1 (they say you can get 10/1 now until you try and get it ) And them there is the west London connections that was ok for Zola
LATEST odds MW 25/1 LS 20/1 GM 14/1 Sky Bet MS 1/6 we think S Bet think they know something. So welcome to Marco Silva
Well the club seem confident... Is the man they want so you'd think Silva would be backed and given time..
