No, not the Doctor plus women aren't allowed to play in the PL but who do you want next or what position do you want covered next.

For me, I would like Batshuyai on loan with option to buy (shy bairns and all that...) as I feel a top striker is essential. I don't like or agree with the loan system but if it is there we would be stupid not to use it.

Certainly think a striker will be through the door next and I wonder if something is already lined up, given the decision to let Arma go on loan and our supposed touting of Mitrovic as being available.

If you've got Gayle and Perez, I'd like someone with a bit of height/presence to offer an alternative (like Mitro I suppose, but actually a striker)

    Then CM needs addressing

I have a horrible feeling we may need to make funds 'available' (to quote MA) before we can line up a striker. Hence the touting of Mitro.

I'm not exactly set alight by the prospect of Mitro being our number 2 striker in the PL after Gayle. But I'm genuinely not sure whether we'd get someone better than him for the money we'd get for him in today's market. What does £16M buy you today? Is it better the devil we know, or do we need to gamble to try and stay in the PL this season.

I can't see why Batshuyai would head here to be honest. Yes he'd get a game but he would at a lot of top clubs around Europe, playing in Europe. He'd also be of interest to several of our divisional rivals who have much greater pull than us.

I think it would be a non starter. I mean I think we are probably a greater pull than a club like say Sunderland last year. However are we a greater pull than say Burnley or Watford? Its borderline for me.

True, but I guess £16m incoming makes buying anyone over £20m far more palatable to the club.

I'm pretty sure Mitro has a higher shot-on-target ratio than most of the people in the Rambo films.

It would be because he was a Toon fan from when he was just a boy admiring a young Shola and finding a kindred spirit upon which to base his future style of play.

I'm all for keeping Mitro. Think he is happy to be third choice, behind Gayle and Perez, supports the club and cares more than someone like Batshuyai ever will, especially if its a loan deal.

Diame, Colback, Hayden, Shelvey and De Jong doesn't fill me with massive confidence across CM/AM and would be my priority signing.

Not a chance are we getting Batshuayi
    A) he won't come, not a chance
    B) we won't be promising first team football
    C) won't somebody PLEASSSE think of the wages!
Rolan sounds more likely and that would be fine for me, between him, Gayle, Perez and mitro one of them's gotta hit form at some point
    Surely......

Because he looked grand at a glance, from a distance but was actually entirely devoid of life on the inside?

CM and goalscorer. We NEED both or we may as well pack up and go home. I'd settle for gambling on players like Delph and Bony to come good and it is frustrating to see players coming available like Wilshere (£20m touted around) and knowing we aren't in the ballpark as we're not a reliable prospect. We are so far behind the likes of West Ham it is unreal.

Wouldn't go for Wiltshire who is a Kieran Dyer waiting to happen but I understand the point you're making.

Batshuyai may be unrealistic but so have so many players we did get in the past including the likes of Keegan so if you don't try you never know. We would be able to guarantee him first team football which is something he won't get at Chelsea.

Go for him and find out. We may have already sounded people out and got word back he's not interested, we'll never know. Part the purpose of the thread is to find out who people want and who people think we could get.

List of possible strikers we could go for. Feel free to add but can't think offhand of others that would suit. Again not saying I want some of these I'm just trying to see who could be on the radar.

    Michy Batshuayi (on lloan)
    Diego Rolan
    Andre Gray
    Daniel Sturridge
    Alvaro Negredo
    Khouma Babacar
    Vincent Aboubakar
