Right guys which player not counting Sunderland's, do you think has graced the Premiership best with his skills. The reason I'm asking is my son has just had SSN on, and Le Tissier is on and he asked me about him. Told him he was one of my favourite ever players, flair, skill and worth the entry money on his own. Shamefully left out of England by that moron Hoddle, unbelievable he only got 8 full caps. Be a toss up between Le Tiss and Zola for me.
Le Tissier was an absolute pleasue to watch, he used to torment the mags as well, so he can have my vote. Zola, Henry in his prime, Okocha, Bergkamp at times, and obviously Ronaldo were phenomenal players to watch. Undeniably Ginola was quite frankly immense when the Toon were having their heyday.
Aye Ginola's a canny call, even though it hurts to say so. I think Le Tiss could have been talked about with some of the legends of the world game, had he gone to a big club. I think it was Xavi who said he was his favourite player too. Praise indeed.
Mad to think that Xavi was sitting there watching Le Tiss thinking 'wow'. England may have won a tiurnament with Le Tiss in the side, whilst his dedication to Southampton was admirable, you can't help but think he wasted the opportunity to be talked of as a world great. He was that good.
Paul Gascoigne before he got the bad knee injury in the FA Cup final was a fantastic player. Ronaldo in his last 2 seasons at Man Utd was just outstanding. Eric Cantona had it all for me. What a shock it was when he announced his retirement!
Cantona, Gascoigne, Dalglish. The problem I have with Ginola is if you approached him cynically enough like Dixon and Winterburn did, his game folded. Cantona, Gazza, or Dalglish would have punished them for that. Vinny Jones anyone? - The only defender to find a way of keeping Gascoigne in check.
Got to be Eric Cantona for me lads. That chip over Lionel at old trafford was awesome...as was the celebration !! Also the time when he booted that Palace Fan !! QUALITY
Rule - Thank you. I must have seen that pic a thousand times - and it's still bloody priceless. The best thing about it is they're both grinning.
In terms of sheer skill vote is for Jay Jay Okocha, i am not sure many more players have shown some of the flashes of brilliance he did. Awesome to watch, i remember a time he was stuck by the corner flag v Aresenal and just flicked it over the guys head!!! Alot of people have skills but i liked the fact he wasnt afraid to use them in a match.
Ryan Giggs, legend of a player and a model pro that any aspiring youngster can look up to. Cantona for his silky skills although could be a knob when he wanted but no doubting his class. Bergkamp is another class act, scored a beauty against us years ago but still a quality player.
No doubting Le Tisses skills the problem i have with him is that he actually thinks he is (was) the worlds best and a bit of a knob as a bloke. Always got some snidey remark to make when in front of the camera's and hates Sunderland.
I always liked Beardsley, Turniphead only put him in the England team through injuries when the team was crying out for him. Giggs has to be the best professional the premiership will ever see. I see Ronaldo has got 50 goals in 51 games for Madrid, absolutely amazing.
