Swansea City 'The No1 Team in Wales' will finish in the top half While Malaysia's RedDragon will finish Bottom of the bottom half!...............
My initial thoughts are the three teams coming up could struggle quite a bit and could all end up in the bottom 4 or 5 places - however, in recent seasons the teams that have come up have done, on the whole, not too badly with the exception of Reading and QPR so I guess there must be a realistic chance that one or more of the three promoted this season could survive and one of them do exceed expectations. Whether that is Cardiff or nor I would not like to say before the season gets underway again
Nice to see such a decisive response from Thai - what a riveting answer to your question Musty........... Cardiff and Swansea wont be far apart in the table come next May - both will finish in the bottom half with Cardiff edging to safety before Swansea. I've got a feeling that Swansea might hit the wall after two good seasons up there and be fighting to stay up toward the end. Just an opinion Musty.
Sorry OS - just a healthy dose of reality mate - impossible to call. A bit like asking me where I think Norwich will finish. I think we have a decent young team that will be stronger come August but could still quite easily get relegated If you guys have a horrible start to the new season then I have little doubt the euphoria of today will quickly turn in to wanting to be back in the Championship where you had good days when you won games. If like us and you are bottom half to fighting off relegation, the PL is a horrible place to be most weeks when you are so used to winning 40% - 45% of your games in years gone by. The only consolations are actually staying up (even by the slightest of margins) or beating one of the top 5 or 6 teams. The rest of it stinks
I have Swansea at 19th as I think one will team will be tailed off. That team is Norwich. Though if Palace go up today then id put Swansea at 18th. The PL is vastly overrated with a number of very average sides who are no better than a lot of Championship sides. Look at how the relegated clubs did this season. I mean Grant Holt - pub player has done ok. He should really be at somewhere like Bradford.
It is very difficult to predict where any team will finish as we still have last seasons squads. Based on that I would say the Swans will struggle and could be bottom half just above the relagation spots. This is mainly due to their European adventure, the longer they are in European competition the worse their league position. Cardiff will survive with the current squad but it will be a long hard season. Once all teams have bought and sold players a better prediction may be possible.
i think cardiff 15th, swansea 14th. the thing with swansea is that they are in a precarious position, 46 points is almost two wins from 17th, it has lead them into a false sense of security, as most people will just look at the league position and fully expect a top half finish next year. there are certainly going to be 3 worse teams than them next season and they will be fine. as for us, 5 new first team players, plus another 3-4 back ups is what i think we need and until you get them you have no idea where you will end up. in fact, even then you have no idea
